I am selling lingeries. Today, I suddenly received an email from a buyer with bracketed as private, no selling history with feedback no 16.

He warned me that most of my items listed in ebay are breaking the US copy right law and will be suspended by ebay for this.

I am selling lingeries all coming from China suppliers who have their website with photo in it. I just copied their photos with consent of the salesman.
I am a reseller, just buying and selling, need I to check everything whether it is against the law.
Besides, I don't know this buyer, does he has this right to warn me or is he my competitor or a detective from some famous lingerie company.
Do I need to reply him ? I hope some senior ebay seller can advise me how to handle this case. Thanks

Are you using any copyright names in your listings such as "just like Haines" ?? If not, you probably have nothing to worry about. If you ARE using name comparisons, then you probably do as eBay doesn't like that.

If no, then it's probably just a competitor or phish hoping to get some info from you.

In any case I wouldn't reply to that email at all. Put that user on your Blocked Bider list in case it's someone looking to mess with your listings.

Carol

Got to agree with Carol reference blocking this user from possibly bidding on your stuff and not returning the email.

I also like the competitor angle trying to warn you off of the site. I'd carefully read the ebay policies and make sure your not going to get in trouble with the site itself.

This forum is flooded with ebay sellers getting banned for most any reason under the Sun.

when i was just starting on ebay, i got an email like that from some jerk. he quoted statutes & everything. i informed him that i was selling a USED item his company produced...so there was no kinda violation whatsoever, because it was what it was. sheesh! these trolls should get a life.
