PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2007 2:56 pm   Post subject:  obtaining free email addy #1  Back to top

I'm building a website with Zencart & have hit a dead end. I'm trying to get email addys that end in @store name. I have free aol (addys must end with @aol so no good). Also have Outlook Express (have spent the past 2 weeks trying to get that to work right, I give up, have installed & deleted dozens of times but still having problems) (also some mysterious names that keep showing up under my accounts which makes me pretty nervous, like BigFoot something or other???), Have also Yahoo but can't figure out how to get an account there that doesn't end in @yahoo.com?

I am thinking at this point that I am a blithering idiot about this stuff. Desperately need help. Does anyone know a source for a free email provider that is secure & you can have a addy that ends in @your store name? HELP TIA

I may be completely out there with this answer... but I was under the impression you can only get a .com email address when you HAVE a .com residence.

So in other words, if there is not frontporchdreaming.com - then there can't be a CustomerService@frontporchdreaming.com

IF you own the frontporchdreaming.com domain and that's what you're using,

and IF, you are getting free email accounts with the place that is hosting your Zencart store,

THEN

you should set up your email accounts *there* THEN worry about getting an email client (which is a different thing altogether) to receive your email with. Because you will need certain information that your host will give you about your email account.

This is probably something your host should have explained to you.

The email account from your host is the horse.

The email software (also called client) is the cart.

You're putting the cart before the horse.
