Has anyone heard when Google Checkout will be offering a shopping cart service like PayPal has?

When you signup for a Google Checkout account, you can easily create buy now buttons for your website by clicking on your settings tab.

Also, Google Checkout is available now in most GNU shopping carts including Joomla, osCommerce and Zencart.

What's more, by accepting Google Checkout, you don't lose sales when buyers cannot pay through Paypal due to technical bugs on their website. In fact many buyers are now starting to prefer Google Checkout over Paypal. On average, we have 5 buyers a month that have chosen to pay with Google Checkout after having problems submitting payment through Paypal.

I'm not sure when/if they'll have their own shopping cart. Currently they provide the resources for programmers to integrate Checkout into virtually any shopping system, but I don't believe that they currently have their very own cart (could be mistaken).

GNU is an abbreviation for General Public License. Which means that the software is free to use and in most cases free to modify and redistribute.

Our free hosting services are a bit of on the technical side and require some ftp and html experience, so it may not be right for you. Personally I haven't had a chance to review PSU's VirtueMart with Google Checkout, but I presume that it's an easy to use system since Joomla itself has a simple and easy-to-use interface. PSU's VirtueMart link is available on the left side menu.

I would recommend Prestostore.com for one reason: The traffic. They have a virtual mall with all their hosted products listed, but you have your own site that the buyer get directed to. I get over 200 visitors a day (1-2 sales daily now) and only have a little over half of my products uploaded. Basically, it's like paying $15 a month for hosting, and $15 for marketing in a single package.

They have a free 10 day trial where you can decide whether or not to use them, or you can use the free trial to add all your products.
