it actually takes less time to send a real check. but the first person who paid me that way was in alaska, & her snail mail was kinda sporadic; so she preferred to pay fer her auctions this way. which is how i found out it could be done.

Personally, I would say that your customer probably had the funds in their account.
I have ACH for my buiness. I'm generally alerted to a transaction within 48 hrs M-F. The time frame might be different for non-business customers.
I think though, that the transaction time frame may be based on residence. I've been working out of my California accounts and finally opened Washington accounts and there's a huge difference. The personal CA account had a 24 hour delivery frame (down from 72 hrs in 2004) for online bill pay. My personal account in WA has a 5 day delivery time frame for online bill pay. Same bank, different state.
Either way, it's much safer than sending a check in the mail. You do not know who might get their grubby grabbers on your check, loaded with personal information and account numbers. I lived in a huge 500 unit complex in CA, mail was misslotted regularly. I hand delivered more than one pay check, bank statements and who knows what else, that was put in my mail box.
Every penny you save over the cost of 3rd party processing is well earned!
Congrats, nopaypal, for trying something new and finding a way to satisfy your customer! Ya' know she'll be back!! |

that sounds about right. i mention this payment method in all my listings ever since a buyer paid me that way years ago. some buyers are just great, eh?

I’m excited more and more people are figuring out io and asking them to delete their account. Two or three sales won’t change that place. All that fighting about illegal sellers and now io has links to offsite illegal sellers but put your email and get suspended. Funny no one talks about the links attached to their goods they have for sale. If you do decide to contact CS might just get an error. |

What could be helpful to buyers and sellers alike is if someone would pen a 'how-to' article on using online bill pay for these sorts of purchases, post it on a blog, site, or forum and link it. This way, other buyers and sellers could learn how to use it, link it in their listings and perhaps make the phenomenon grow. |
