In a month or so, I want to take my myspace page a notch up from the standard freebie layouts that I've been using.

I know enough html to get it done myself - but it'd take me three times as long as an experienced developer would take... BUT I am not interested in paying somebody a hundred dollars an hour to save me a little time (one developer wants $700!!! Yikes)...

So surely there is a hungry expert in here at PSU that would love the extra work.

I especially dig the pages that dont look like myspace pages. PM me and we can get the ball rolling on what I need/want/desire

Marty

Hey Mo - did you try READING my WTB post!?

Of course you know I'm only kidding - I dish it out cuz i know you can take it and you will give me my own medicine back

.... I want to stay away from "my page has been pimped out" kinda banners, etc - the most impressive pages I've seen are the ones that dont even look like a myspace page.

Anyway - if it's free, chances are I will be stuck with the same ol same ol - but I want to enhance the myspace experience, cuz as it turns out, I get way more traffic coming thru there than I ever did pouring out money into advertizing my own site.

Still keeping my eyes open, but I do have a lead for someone who's pretty good at it - still gearing up for it al tho

thanks for thinking about me,
Marty

Hi-

I don't do myspace web design but I can show you how to easily get rid of "myspace pimped stuff." You can check out my page. I used a free site but I got rid of all that stuff. It isn't perfect but if you don't want to pay an armload for a custom design it will work. You just have to send me the code you want to use then I can take it out.

Thanks outfitkit!

That's a pretty good tip. So, when I do revamp the site and use a pimped out layout, I will definitely contact you for getting that annoying banner out of the code... your page looks great, so you know what I'm after - thanks again for posting!

Marty

Wow, that's a really nice job there, outfitkit! Really nice page!

I would like some tips on removing those "pimped" out banners. I found a skin I finally like and I'm working on my page again.

Feel free to add me! Very Happy

Thanks for any help! If you Squidoo too (lol), there is a thread here on PSU where we are working on a seller group. Holler if you're interested.

Blessings,
sylvia

No Problem. I just added you as a friend and sent you a message. Just let me know if it doesn't make sense.

I do have a Squido lens but I haven't done anything with it along with my Google page, yahoo 360 and blog. I need to get on the ball. I will check out the forum.

Thanks

A little late in responding, but if anyone is still looking for a custom myspace page, I would love to take it on @ $100. It will be more of a splash page than a myspace, completely different layout. Can try and match the look and feel to that of your own website. Quick rundown of how it goes:

1. We discuss what your looking for and I whip up a pic as an example. You comment on what you would like added/changed and I see what I come up with.

2. You paypal $50 with your myspace user/pass and I modify your myspace, AS WELL AS CHANGE YOUR LOGIN INFO. This stops you from trying to get away without paying the other half. At this point there will also be a large watermark on it.

3. I login and upload it and you examine it and let me know of any final changes.

4. If it's ok, you paypal the remaining $50. I remove the watermark and give you the new login details and you login and change them at which point your myspace is back to being YOURS again, and I no longer have any type of access.

- I will NOT cover any myspace ads and the top and bottom menus will remain intact.

- Changing friends (if you want any shown) and content will have to be done manually, and is NOT very easy if your not savvy. Once you go this route, it is more of an advertisement than a fully functioning myspace. Although you will still be able to click links to see your comments, friends, pics, etc. And of course you can easily convert back to stock at anytime, but you will have to start from scratch.

- Updates afterwards will be done on a case by case basis. A small "tip" would help get them done sooner Wink

So basically this is not a layout, this is a format. Nothing like you would ever see from any layout generators etc. Any interest let me know,

Mike

Go to either GetAFreelancer.com or Guru.com. Guru.com has higher quality web designers but it will cost you more than to hire somebody from India or China. If you want to get your project right the first time I would recommend you go along with a better designer on Guru.com
