This moring its been brought to my attention that you can buy a neg .feedback thur a company called net neurtal for 100.00
please check this out
Why bother having feedback if negatives can be bought cleanPosted 04-May-07 05:19:32 EDT
Why bother having feedback if negatives can be bought clean? Tell me if this seems fair because my feelings towards ebay are at an all time low.
I bought a car from BAYSYN motors on ebay and the car was not as described. It was claimed it was an excellent car. It arrived with the engine light on and died within 30 minutes and woud not start again. It required 5k to fix. It was also advertised as having a warranty and navigation and had neither. The seller claimed he had hios mechanic check it out and thats impossible since it arrived as it did. Because of the electronics it is simple to diagnose with a computer so he had to know or he is lying about having it checked. I have proof of everything I am saying including the old parts to prove that they were broken. I tried to make a claim and it did not work because of ebays procedures and timeline for filing a claim. You are told to do the dispute resolution and once you do you have to wait 10 days for a response from the seller who knowingly does not comment and then 10 days are gone and since you only have 14 days to file for the 20k in fraud protection you now have only 4 days and they steer you to the wrong second step you get steered to a 200 dollar fraud protection instead of the 20k program and by then you are screwed by ebay but they are not done screwing you yet.
So I had to eat the 5k and being ripped off but felt my last option was leave negative feedback which I did and it was justified and everytrhing I have said I can prove since I saved all correspondence and parts.
So I left negative feedback to protect you and anyone considering making a purchase from this rip off Baysyn Motors.
It turns out you can buy off a negative feedback by paying to have a third party dispute resolution. How in the world can there be a feedback dispute? I meant what I said and it was all factual and I can prove he is dishonest and a rip off.
Yet BAYSYN paid a company to do a dispute resolution and got my feedback turned to a nuetral from a negative.
Here is where ebay shows there true colors. I received a email saying I had been entered into a feedback dispute
and this letter was not from ebay but a company called net nuetral(the company he paid to resolve the dispute). So I went to ebay and asked a live operator about this and she said not to respond and that net nuetral was not affiliated with ebay and to send the email to them. So I blew net nuetral off thinking it was a scam but today I find out he has altered my negative to a nuetral somehow. How is this possible ebay? The guy ripped me off and you seem to have helped him get away with this. Even worse you seem ready to allow this behavior to continue since you have helped him to hide the facts of the situation by altering my feedback. Had I known that feedback was worthless I would have looked at him closer and then seen that BAYSYN motors has like 8 negatives changed that do not show up since your feedback is buyable. Does anyone really think that net nuetral would have been impartial since they are paid 100 bucks by BAYSYN to resolve a dispute? What grounds does he have to dispute my feedback especially since I can prove what I said, that he lied and I have proof of that and he sold a car that was not as described? Why did net nuetral contact me when it seems like ebays job to inform me of a dispute? Ebay says never to respond to a third party if it does not show up in my messages. Ebay never informed me of a feedback dispute. How can ebay justify any of this? Ebay only cares about their customers the seller and from the looks of this whole thing they are willing to bend over backward to allow their customers to rip off buyers. Whats worse is that BAYSYN wrote me and called me a piece of sh*t and told me that he got the negative changed. Thats how I found out. Anyone thinking of buying from BAYSYN should write me for copies of his emails and see for yourself what a dishonest crook he is. He lied to me and when I called him on it he flipped out and said I should treat him with respect and went into how many cars he has sold to which I replied that respect is earned not given and that lies did not go to far towards getting respect and that was the beginning of all the trouble. |

I will tell you what I know about this issue....
I know of the company "square trade" was the very first transaction dispute resolution provider that was ebay approved.
Many sellers use this service, and the ones that do you'll find many times that there positive feedback is 100% or very close to perfect. Now I don't know about you people, but perfection is not normal, even for superman!
I've even seen some sellers with 5,000 - 10,000 feedbacks with 99.9% feedback scores. This is simply not possible, with that many transactions. When you ship this many items, you're going to get poor feedback for silly things like a customer posting for the wrong item purchase. And a 1,000 other reasons because life is not perfect, and neither is the current feedback system, even ebay will tell you that much!
When I first used Square Trade they wanted $20 to convert a negative feedback into a neutral comment, after you went through there dispute resolution they would do that for you. The service amounted to the buyer venting, then the seller responds, back and forth, etc., then square trade decided the outcome if the buyer and the seller could not agree on a satisfactory solution. Which is alot like the paypal dispute resolution system currently, only that paypal does not convert feedback on ebay.
Anyways it is possible to convert feedback, has been for many years now. Costs $20 (that was 3 years ago when I investigated the service) But I highly doubt it costs $100, but I know nothing about the company that that you speak of.
It is a sore subject for me also that feedback can be converted so as to give the impression that some sellers are "perfect". And also gives the impression to new sellers that 100% feedback is easily attainable, but it is not. You'll notice these sellers that "groom" there feedback profiles will have no negatives in "years" of selling - ZERO??
They pay square trade to mitigate disputes, and convert negatives into neutrals. You'll notice they have alot of neutral feedback. An example would be like 143 neutrals, 0 negatives, 100% score. Since neutrals are not counted in the overall score, they wash poor feedback (red marks) off of there profile, as to appear squeaky clean!
Is it fair? I don't think so, not to your average "good guy" seller it's not. Some people got to stroke there ego's I guess, with perfection. I've never felt the need to be perfect. And as you may have guessed, any seller with feedback above 99.5 with 10,000 feedback transactions is gaming the system, and I've seen a seller on ebay with 100% feedback and the only thing that the guy sells is used shoes. Yes, I said USED SHOES! When you shop ebay, you will find these "perfect" feedback scores are not reality.
How many buyers would know that negative feedback on ebay can be groomed?? NONE!
How many sellers know this can be done? NOT MANY. I will say it does get expensive to maintain perfection, if that's what you'd like to call it?
The increased selling fees on ebay are the largest cause of feedback 2.0 current release. As sellers feel the squeeze by ebay, USPS postage rates, suppliers, etc. etc. And try to cut corners to make a buck, it means the buyers will pick up the bill as service from sellers on ebay worsens.
I've already seen and felt the squeeze myself, as many of others have. And as usual the sellers and the BUYERS get the short end of the stick. I could cover a lost sale here or there, and ship free replacements even though I didn't beleive the buyers word, I did it. But now I am much less inclined to give away free replacements.
Ebay could of improved the matter for everyone by lowering the fees to realistic prices, but they will never do that unless they are forced kicking and screaming. Hey, they got a cash cow system. Irregardless of wether the community of members all helped, and chipped away to build this huge empire, we will never get any credit for it.
I am off ebay in 8 months, hopefully. I am grateful for the opportunity it has given me. I found out you do not have to be "special" to run your own business, heck...look at ebay, are they gifted?? I love the insight into supply and demand, security versus risk, etc. I have some keys, and will use these knowledge nuggets to reinvent myself better than before. I feel there is no risk in being yourself, and nobody can really ever copy your unique business style. Risk to me is working a job for an employer, now that kind of risk I try to avoid! Risk is not living your dreams!
No more sticker shock on my bank withdrawals, no more feeding this company anymore money from me. They don't deserve what they get now! I did learn alot about ecommerce, best learned in the trenches!
