CuFF - I agree! For buyers, often you could not find what ya wanted/needed. I tried - and always try every alternative before I head to the bay or a merchant site - I really wanna support any/all sellers I can for my wants and needs!

I'll act on your message tomorrow - we had tourney this weekend, which got 'canceled due to storms today' - Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes and my boys hijacked my desktop (email) all spare hours of the weekend.

I've not forgotten, just so ya know!! Wink

And - for a site that can have the traffic that Y did/does, I would support a fair fee structure. I've never had any issues with a end-of-auction fee - esp. if there are results. I have a hard time swallowing upfront fees, esp. when a site hasn't yet proved the foot traffic required to meet sales wants/needs.

I have been including links on my Yahoo Auctions About Me page and in some of my auction listings on where to find my other websites, so hopefully some of my repeat customers will find me at my other internet selling sites (eCrater & BluJay).

I prominently put a link box to my other sites in some of my current Yahoo auctions. Have a look:

http://auctions.yahoo.com/auction/239256858

Funny how the site is working better now as far as listing and editing auctions.

It started working perfectly as soon as the notice went up. Makes ya wonder, doesn't it?

Buckeye, I've been emailing some of my favorites and putting notes in things I sell. Would you believe I got a sale on Yahoo this morning. LOL Even with all the problems. And spam from China. Brother.

yahoo dropping yahoo auctions .. now they make yahoo shopping the number 1 place to shop online... having yahoo auctions also just confuses the buyers..yahoo is SET to to make their shopping best for buyers and sellers.

But its a good thing google is trying this makes yahoo do things better. google tried with gmail and that made yahoo make their email much better..

There is no-one who counterfeits in Singapore. It is the most heavily regulated and policed state in the whole of Asia.

Singapore is a tiny crowded island with 4 million people, almost everyone knows eveyone!

It is always Sad to see yet another Auction Site Bite the Dust.

With us we wanted to post on Yahoo a few months ago. Yahoo would not let us register. And we tried a few time (even tried contacting support about twice, which took a good few days to get a generic responce).

In end couldn't register. Unhappy at the time, but with this news we are unfortunately lucky we could't get in and didn't waste a ton of time on them.

Again, sorry to see any Auction Site go under though.

AE - despite my 'grand time' in moving my items (NOT), my experience at Y! Auctions was a good one. Found some awesome customers, and met a ton of great sellers. I'll miss it and the traffic - but not the 'system issues'!!

Agree with ya - this IMO - is a huge loss as it was 2nd in traffic.... Sad

I assume that it was a business decision. They were probably at the end of profitability if they had any to begin with. You can only remain unprofitable (and even less profitable than other endeavors) before you are on the chopping block. Yahoo is now fighting for survivability so probably had to jettison a few losing departments.

I think it had nothing to do with profitablity(since they really spent no resources on it to begin with) and has EVERYTHING to do with being in cahoots with ebay.

I agree with you Alan. I've been to Singapore on holiday and it is a lovely place - clean, green and law-abiding. Very Happy

Also - has anyone see this offer from Ebid for Yahoo US and Canadian users?

""US and Canadian users of Yahoo Auctions can import their feeback for free. By doing this we will allow you to upgrade to a lifetime Platinum account worth $99.99 for absolutely nothing.

Email a screen grab from the logged in area of your yahoo auctions account showing us your feedback page. Do not screen grab the public view of your feedback.

Scren grab by pressing the PrtSc key on your keyboard to save a copy of your current screen to your clipboard and then pasting into an email or into some photo software.

MAKE SURE YOU SEND US YOUR EBID USERNAME ALSO IN THE EMAIL YOU SEND

This offer will last until Yahoo closes its doors on 3rd June.

Email the jpg/gif/png/bmp image to yahoo_offer@ebid.net

Thanks

Yoo Hoo! I finally finished moving all my stock to ecrater-712 items!
What was interesting is how many auctions had actually disapeared off yahoo. When I started double checking my inventory, I found nearly 50 items that were no longer listed...glad I wasn't paying for those listings!
I'm really pleased with the traffic and sales I'm getting so far...and how easy it is to maintain the store!
