Hey, since we can't really find what we want on ebay any more, please steer me to your pages if you're selling older dolls (pre 1980's) but mostly baby boomer and vintage types. Parts too. Will buy them off posh if needed.

I also need a purple MYST hat. Will pay generously if it's in ok shape. This is to replace one lost in a hospital eight years ago.

Two years ago, and even one year ago, I could pick up a lot of doll parts easily. There were at any given time at least 50 pages of what we buy regularly. I would actually have several pages of items I was watching. Now, most of the vintage stuff we see is "reproduction" bull that someone has mass produced. I end up only watching four or five auctions on any given day, when I was used to several pages worth. Instead of actual Barbie stuff made prior to 80's, you see 80% auctions from each seller trying to sell replacement items that they've put together or "vintage inspired".

Doll parts are just scarce. Now, there are about 8 pages if you enter the keyword "doll parts" in the doll category and even fewer in the stores. There used to be about 23 pages on slower days and over fifty on busy ones. If Ebay doesn't know they are in trouble, the buyers sure do.

The problem is, where are the parts and older dolls? They can't have just disappeared like the odd sock in the dryer. I think the fees are to blame, and it irks me as a buyer to not find what I want. To me, it's doll parts. To someone else, it might be fishing lures or buttons. Frankly, things are just GONE. Sellers I used to go to frequently for beads are gone, leaving only China and a few overpriced folks taking advantage of the scarcity of the sellers in the area.

Freaky.

The Myst hat is UBER rare. I want to buy one for my wife, who had one that was lost when the third little one came into the world. The hospital never found it. Sad

I have a few very old dolls from Europe that I have never listed that could be restored or used for parts. These are definitely pre-1950 and I purchased them from an antique import auction. Give me a few days and I will put some photos up on my website. I would love to get rid of them and would consider any reasonable offer. I currently have one doll listed in my web store that is identical to one that I received as a gift in 1956. Check her out at Drink & Wet Doll. I also have an small unusual doll that I purchased at the antique importer's auction in my online store. It looks like Marie Antoinette, but may not actually be a character doll. She is very unique. These are posted in my online store and there are NO FEES and you pay the exact shipping cost of whatever you buy.

I can start you with this one:

You may go to my store (link is below), look on the left of the screen (in Blujay, anyway) for "TOYS" to see if there are any dolls there that you may like. Wink
