Many of these are coming from Yahoo, I bet. I am on the Yahoo sellers group and have seen them discussing where they are going. Lots of them have chosen Bidville. (and many have chosen HiBidder ) Many mention contacting their customers to let them know where they are going.

GiGi - thanks 4 sharing! I'm also a member and moderator of the Yahoo Seller's Group, and there is a poll going on currently. Bidville.com has become one the top chosen sites, as well as eCrater.

The Y sellers that participate in the group are all great sellers. So, definitely Bidville's gain!!

You'll be able to strike Trader33 from the list soon. It'll be interesting to see how many of these new Sellers are still at BV next month.

It seems like many Yahoo Auctioneers are impressed by the total listings count. But the traffic to Bidville doesn't match up well with the total listings. Unfortunately, it is hard to estimate traffic for a web site, and you must experience it by listing for a while.
What I don't understand, is why doesn't Ubid open up their site for listings of the Bidville type? They could have one large auction site for everything.

2boys, if you could, could you let the Yahoo'ers know that we have a Bidville sellers group on Yahoo. Probably a lot like yours. Here is the link.

Tails - I think this is a possibility - lemme check with the owner of the group - if it's 'all good', I'll gladly share the group with those at the current Y selling group!!

I typed before I looked - your group (at first, and a quick glance) appears to be a way for sellers to share what they have. I think it's a better fit for another Y Selling Group - that's very similar....

Also, campu2 has a group that may align nicely!! I'll touch base with the Y group owner so she can determine synergies and then find campu2 here, and share!

That would be great. I think that they won't because of the different security measures they have at Ubid. They only accept registered merchants with references etc ..

But maybe they could fusion with other auction sites like HiBidder or something.

I think Ubid has their site open for Bidville type auctions as long as there is a category for you. They do require a background check and credit verification. Ubid isn't for selling a couple items, but if you are Powerseller I'd imagine they would like to have you as one of their "certified merchants". In terms of Bidville, Ubid needs to focus some resources there and it could be a formidable competitor to Ebay

HonestJoe, I wish you would not have bumped this thread. It upsets me.

I feel Bidville had a golden oppunity with Yahoo closing. We were getting a whole lot of new members and things were looking good (I have no idea if they are still coming). Then, Bidville mangenment decided to welcome the new members by closing the boards. I feel the boards were Bidvilles only advertisement where members could give links and exchange idea about ways to bring more members to Bidville. If you had a problem you could ask for help. If someone was sick you could ask for prayer. If you just wanted to chat, you could. It was a great coumminty. Like any coummunity, there were some problems. But the good out weighed the bad. I feel the boards were an asset, not a burden.

After looking at this thread, I see a lot of the members that were welcoming new members have joined PlunderHere. I am hoping that the coumminty at PlunderHere will be as great as the one Bidville evicted.

It was not in uBids plans to promote BV to Yahoo Sellers. Although they indicated otherwise when one member emailed uBid to ask, they are going after Yahoo Sellers for their uBid site, not BV. Closing the BV boards may have been part of their strategy..

I have been reading the posts about Bidville and must say I am very disappointed Ubid has not promoted or advertised Bidville! Looks like it is still just sitting there! It could have been a great site if they had just given it more attention.
