Last nite I got an email about ordering 5 packs each of 2 varieties of chile seeds and could I Fed-ex them overnite ??

This is sending up all kinds of red flags.

First, who is going to order less than $20 worth of seed and pay about $20 to get it delivered ??

Second, 1 of the chile names in the email isn't anything I actually list !!

Third, she asks me to call her to talk about the order and she will pay with a credit card over the phone. My web site clearly mentions that I can't do credit cards by phone, only thru Google Checkout or PayPal.

I returned an email last nite explaining the problems and so far haven't gotten a reply. If she was so hot to get those seeds they needed to be 'overnited', I would have thought she would have gotten back with an email by now.


Scam or not ?? And what kind of scam ?? Stolen credit card ??

At first thought, it sounds a bit suspicious. However, I have seen many a people, do many a crazy thing. Maybe their in dire need of those seeds and are willing to pay the piper to get them fast at an added charge.

I myself have ordered many times and paid the overnight charge, just because I wanted it then and there, but never for something that was less than the actual cost of the item.

If you specified your terms prior to the sale, and they want to go against those terms, I would say go with your gut instinct, and stick by those, and go from there.

Hard to say really. Who would want to do a scam on a few dollars worth of garden seeds? Seems odd. People do strange things though when they're in a hurry. I had a customer before Christmas buy a $9 book and pay almost $50 for an overnight fedex from Canada because she wanted it in time for Christmas! More money than brains I guess! LOL!

I know, my feelings too about why bother to scam for such a small amount. Tho for me it would end up being about $40 if I got stuck with the shipping too.

I guess I'll give her a call in a bit to see if I can figure it out better. Tho I wonder why she didn't get back in another email.

Well, I called and it was a legit company, but now 'they don't need them any more'.

So I guess it wasn't a scam, just a flake !!!
