Is Moneybookers allowed on Feebay Listings or to be used through Feebay? I've never heard of it so I have my doubts, but educate me... Has anyone any other checkout that will work with Feebay? |

This goes along with the eBay stock price. It's from:

Can an eBay Without Auctions Survive?
Posted on 6/11/2008 10:24 AM
Publication: "BusinessWeek"
Publication title: "Auctions on eBay: A Dying Breed"
Publication Date: 6/3/2008
KeyWords: EBAY
Brief Summary:
Online auction house eBay (EBAY) is in trouble, and this article from BusinessWeek underscores the identity crisis swirling around the company. According to eBay auctioneer Bruce Henderson "The auctions are nothing like what they once were... They won't ever come back." The article expands on Mr. Henderson's take, noting that many consumers would rather pay a fixed price for an item rather than "goof around" in an auction. For eBay, this translated into a meager first-quarter rise in revenue of just 14%, compared to Amazon.com's sales surge of 37% for the quarter.
But eBay executives are not resting on their laurels, and have aggressively moved into the "Buy It Now" service, by favoring one-click shopping with recent price adjustments. The move comes with good reason, as "Buy It Now" sales are growing at a 22% annual pace. "The bloom is well off the rose with regard to the online-auction thing," says Tim Boyd, an analyst with American Technology Research. "Auctions are losing a ton of share, and fixed price has been gaining pretty steadily."
Not everyone is happy with the new fee structures at eBay. "Everybody is mad because they feel that this company got built on them, and when eBay felt that they no longer needed them, they tried to get rid of them," says Maggie Dressler, an eBay seller since 2001. "It is deplorable."
Contrarian Takeaway: (emphasis added)
eBay management may believe they are on to something with their focus on "Buy It Now" sales, but at what point does the company become just another Amazon.com (AMZN) clone? Auctions are what built eBay, and they are what define eBay as a unique online marketplace. Investors seem to have realized this to some degree, as the stock has declined more than 12% so far in 2008, easily outpacing the S&P 500 Index's loss of roughly 7%. Following a brief respite from March through April, selling pressure on the shares has returned with such fervor that EBAY breached key round-number support at the 30 level in May.
The sentiment picture isn't any rosier. While options players are beginning to take the hint by piling into put contracts, the stock's Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio (SOIR) ranks in the 60th percentile of its annual range. This reading indicates that pessimism has ample room to grow among speculative investors, leaving the door open to additional selling pressure for EBAY shares.
What's more, Zacks.com reports that 10 of the 18 analysts following EBAY rate the shares a "buy" or better. With the company increasing fees on its auctioneering base of customers amid a decline in auction sales, I can't help but think that the company's core business will continue to suffer. I also can't help but wonder what these bullish analysts will think if EBAY's auction business continues to fade as the company shifts toward the Amazon.com model of fixed pricing. Downgrades from the brokerage bunch are the last thing that EBAY shares need right at the moment.

To quote thebay:
"Permitted on eBay.com:
Sellers may offer to accept:
PayPal, merchant credit cards (including MasterCard, Visa, Amex, Discover® Network), debit cards, and bank electronic payments for eBay purchases.
Bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers.
Cash on Delivery (COD) or cash for in-person transactions.
Personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks, certified checks, and other negotiable instruments."
No google checkout, no moneybookers, no RME, or anyother online service is accepted by eBay |

I am sorry, but a lot of people are asking questions than many of us just do not have answers to.
"Where's the best place to sell?"
That question has had many variations in history, hasn't it? "Where's the best place to hunt?" "Where's the best place to gather? to fish? to farm?"
The best place to sell is where few people are selling what you sell (low competition), where there is a lot of traffic (a relative term when comparing to feebay's clout), and where the fees, services and ease of use best balance and fit your needs. There are subforums and specific topics that discuss many of the major feebay alternatives: Etsy, eBid, eCrater, OLA, fididididel, Plunderhere.
No one has all the answers for you, unfortunately, and what's true for one of us may very well not be true for you. You should read these other threads about alternatives, and try to find the one that has the best balance for what you are looking.
Who've I had luck with? eBid, but so far they are the only one's I've used. So that doesn't really help much.
Whoever you choose, it will take effort to sell, especially in this economy, so be prepared to work a bit harder than you might have with eBay.
Good luck!!! |

More on eBay stock:
Won't Bid On eBay Anytime Soon
Wednesday June 11, 2008
A basic rule for novice investors is to buy stock in companies that are important to your everyday life. And if nothing is important to you, buy shares in companies that are important to your friends. Unfortunately, aforementioned basic rule provides a dilemma for what to do with eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY). Fortunately, we're not alone in trying to figure this one out as eBay receives buy, sell, and hold ratings from the leading brokers. But as the title of this post suggests, we at tech:stocker side with sell ratings as eBay has seen its peak and needs to rethink how it does business before it loses more popularity with sellers and buyers. . Back in 2000 eBay was really hitting its stride as it had moved beyond finding the rare Afghan Whigs album (if you can find "Big Top Halloween" on eBay, buy it. Only 1000 copies issued and it is superb) to people who bought items associated with everyday living. As the site blossomed with interesting collectibles, a new breed of sellers quickly appeared and opened eBay stores that sold shoes, clothes, and other items that these sellers were able to acquire cheaper than the average consumer and sell them...
"...we're not certain John Donahoe has the experience, or vision, to be a successful successor to Whitman, we definitely didn't see his appointment as an immediate sign that eBay would return to its glory days in the near future." (emphasis added)

Well, it seems that Ebay stock issues has gone down the the psychological support barrier. Ebay seems to be in trouble again. ... plus the Political Insider Traders who need cash....
Let's wait for the next quarterly report...
Maybe a lot of people have set an appointment with Donahoe at Ebay Live to throw tomatoes at him....LOL!
The auction numbers have declined to 13million+++, most boycotters are targetting the 12million psychological barrier that would hurt the income of Ebay from fees.
By the way Ebay has changed their Ebay Payments policy again. They're being very monopolistic this time when it comes to accepted payments. |

Personally I think ebay is an absolute rip off. They've taken what was once a giant great site and turned it upside down and no nobody can use it.
I know what it's like to be both buyer and seller, being a seller is just crap now.
I've spent 3 months developing a combat site to take on ebay.
www.razorbid.com.au
It's just officially opened today. 13th of June 2008.
I've provided a Bulk Lister to take ebay's existing CSV files, it's been in testing for over a month.
It's 100% fully functional with only 2-3 minor bugs found by 10 testers.
I need Bulk Listers to join and list to help it go. It's mostly for Australia but we welcome oversea's bulk sellers.
If you join and start bulk listing, if you send me a message using the Contact Us at the top of the page saying you linked to our site from PowerSellersUnite here......... I will credit your account with us $200 to help provide you with free listings.
Categories are still in development but most are there.
Cheers.

That is a very neat site you have RazorBidAuctionsAustralia:
It looks complete with what an auction site should be.
Here's what both developers of auction sites and social networks could do. They could form a strategic alliance.
I've talked to developers of soical networks, they say their users are doing to much socializing, but don't have the inclination to trade, buy or sell. Now this is their main problem. Their buy & sell and auction formats are also deficient.
Now a merging of a auction site and a social network will be the best combination.

Thanks for the comment StrategicOverseer. It is yes in my opinion "how an auction site should be".
I refused to open the site ahead of time until it was tested unlike alot of other sites which have opened too early and had lots of bugs which have put off alot of buyers and sellers.
But I'll agree we need to combine somewhat to combat the giant known as eBay
Cheers

I just wanted to come and say that I've been chatting back and forth with a number of users from PowerSellersUnite here, both Power Sellers and just other users etc.
After completeing some research into fee's and so forth between eBay and Ozition. I changed my view on my own fee's for RazorBid.
Changes:
--- NO LISTING FEE'S (apart from various options a user may select)
--- FREE PICTURE UPLOAD
--- 50c FVF FOR ITEMS UNDER $50
--- FVF's range between 1-3% depending on listing cost.
Thats lower the eBay, lower then Ozition. And I'd pitt RazorBid's website in terms of use, appeal inbetween the two.
Thats my final update after a few days of comments from Power Sellers here. Thanks guys. appreciate the feedback. |
