Has anyone ever purchased items from Liquidation.com for resale or know anything about the sites reputation?

Looks like you can get some pretty good deals. Also looks like all merchandise is being shipped from here in the U.S.

I looked at them a few years ago. Never bought. Their shipping at the time was outrageous. May be different now.

I have made a few purchases from this group. I just caution you to be careful of what you are bidding on. Quite often you are getting customer returns to B&M stores.

While we all know that some customers return perfectly good merchandise, the way it's handled both by the initial customer and the store accepting the return can leave scratches and other blemishes which your online customers may not appreciate, causing you return hassles of your own.

Additionally, some of the items may in fact be broken or otherwise need refurbishing. You have to be willing to accept some bad merchandise that can only be used for parts, and be able to fix other units.

Even buying pure overstock merchandise can result in receiving some damaged goods. Who knows how long the merchandise has been inventoried, how often it was handled and/or moved, etc. Each movement offers the opportunity for damage of some of the units.

Overall, I'd rate the experience a C+/B-. I was always able to turn a profit, even if modest, on the merchandise I bought from them. But, it did take extra work -- you are not buying 100% pristine merchandise with a return policy in force for defective merchandise. You will most likely have to put extra work into your inventory to maximize your profit potential.

I have bought a few auctions at liquidation.com before...I have usually done ok, but they do have pretty high shipping and some auctions can go out of range quick...but there are deals to be found. You just have to be careful and do plenty of research before buying!

Liquidation.com is like eBay, just putting the deal together. It's the seller you need to watch. I bought several boxes of broken ipods and they were easy fixes (just itunes fixes) with some bad ones. Made about $1000 per box. Then I bought 2 boxes from same vendor, and both boxes had already been pillaged of anything useful. It should have been labeled as Salvage, but was not. I ended up buying hundreds more on parts and barely broke even. After that, I just gave up, since I don't know what kind of returns I would get.

I also found that the new stuff could be purchased direct from China for hundreds less per box.

I too have used liquidation.com, and they are, in my humble opinion, crooks...check that video, these are two of the companies that I bought auctions from. One was reasonable and one was pure salvage, listed as returns. To see them in league, in some underground way with the masters of deception ebay is not surprising. More disruptive techniques.....I wonder what Jerry Brown, the Attorney General of California thinks of ebay....I am sure if an investigation of this company were ever undertaken, there would be a groundswell of illegal behavior that could be taken out of the woodwork by PSU members and just plain folks....the Ebay machine has begun to unravel, and once the Justice Dept. of the Bush white house is gone, perhaps some of the corporations, like Ebay, Liquidation.com, Buy.com might become the emperors without clothes, and this time not ignored, like they are now...sorry about straying, check my rant on liquidation.com, knowing that ebay made me tone it down before they would print it....even back a year or so ago...Rather Russ at www.dedicatedfool.com

we keep blujay and some others and we earn more money as we never believe
but if u want buy broke items and u can fixed it we have a place name Via trading.com
u can buy pallets of ipods, radios, phones and more for $300
I am not good to fixed and sale them but if someone can do it these is the place

I recently experimented with buying a lot of new girls clothes on liquidation.com. What a disappointment! The description said you would get all these "namebrand" clothes, but when I got the shipment in, most of the clothes were Macy's store brand (greendog) which were just their cheap $8.98 stuff. One of the FEW items that were actually a "namebrand" had a store security tag (you know, those large plastic things that cannot be removed unless you have a special device) still attached to it! I took photos and filed a complaint with liquidation.com, stating that the items were significantly not as described and guess what? They said "sorry, but your claim doesn't not have substantial proof and the one pair of pants that has the security tag falls within the 2% quantity variance that was stated in the auction." WHAT A FRAUD!

The one thing I noticed about their site is that they do not have any type of rating system for the sellers or a forum for buyers to leave their comments...it's just like "buyers beware and keep your mouths shut!"

I wouldn't risk buying on their again. EVER. I paid $215 for this lot of 50 "namebrand" items (not counting the shipping and taxes!) and I feel like I got ripped off.

They are crooks.

I have made about 7 or so purchases from liquidation.com. It has been pretty hit or miss actually. The 1st couple lots sold really well. I bought a clothing lot which did not sell and the quality of clothes included was subpar at best. They all had these 1cent purchase tags on them.

I then bought a lot of network equipment which lucky I was refunded because the item arrived with "Sample -Not For Resale" labels on them. Then I dropped $1200.00 on a lot of motherboards that were supposedly tested. They arrived in 2 boxes with very little padding. over 50% were damaged. Of course liquidation only gives you 2 days to submit a complaint which was impossible for me to do so I lost big bucks on that.

I would say all in all I am 50-50 with my purchases but unfortunately the 50% that were crap cost me big $$ and put me $2500 in the red. Purchase with caution and be prepared to assume the risk. Do not buy if you cannot evaluate your purchase within 2 days of receipt else you may be out money.

We do many shipments for clients purchasing from liquidation.com. There are several issues with shipping from a liquidation location which can be avoided. The main item to remember is to have the lot number and transaction id on the bill of lading.

Some locations require an appointment time or day. Every location is different, so it is best to speak with someone in shipping to arrange a day for pick up.
