If you take the number of auctions that sold in the past 30 days at OLA and divide it by the number of auctions, you will get the sell-through rate. Right now, OLA states that they have over 15 million auctions. I dropped that number down to 13 million in order to give a fair average. Then I found that in the past 30 days, 2,320 items actually sold on OLA. Therefore, the sell-through rate for OLA in the past 30 days is .0017846, much, much less than one percent.
Now if you took their actual listings, which fluctuates between 350,000 and 600,000 (I used 475,000 to be fair) the sell-through rate would be .0048842, still less than 1% but a little better.
These numbers give a better idea about why so many sellers go to the OLA forum dissatisfied with the fact that their auctions don't sell. You can theorize that if you had 100 items listed, less than one would sell in a month. |

The only reason I did the math on this was my own curiosity along with the fact that several people mentioned that they couldn't find sell-though rates for OLA. Hopefully, these figures will help somone. |

Still beating that propaganda drum, waltz? |
This is a correct figure, all you have to do is go look at the what sold and then how many auction listing and you get that percentage. |

I'm not math-ish, so I don't know how the following would figure in:
My son and a couple of his friends list cars on OLA sometimes. They just use OLA as a showcase so when someone makes them an offer, they end the auction and sell the car directly to the buyer. That just shows up as an ended or canceled auction and not a sale, right? Maybe they should tell the buyers to bid (no matter what price they've privately agreed on) and THEN end the auction so they'd hit the items sold figures.
OLA doesn't take anything from the sales so they don't interfere either way. |

I know that sort of thing isn't approved on eBay, but on OLA it would work because of the flat pre-pay. Are you saying that if that was done it would help OLA with it's sell-through rate? If that is the case, then it would add another sale to the stats, maybe. Only OLA would be able to tell you if an auction that had a bid and was ended early would show up to them as sold or as just an ended auction. |

If the Auction is canceled then that would not be considered a sale on the auction site. |

So, as the poster asked, guess letting someone bid, then canceling the auction wouldn't drive up the OLA stats. |

Just wanted to make sure that new folks would be able to find the OLA sell through rate without having to do the math.
BTW, OLA cheerleaders, if you can dispute these figures, please respond. |

I just checked the items sold and it is averaging about 100 sales a day excluding the week of the sales. Most sales occur on Wednesdays which is the night they play games. With over 16 million items listed to average a hundred sales a day is pathetic. |

"Pathetic"
What an apt term for OLA. |

I'm confused about somthing...
"1-25 out of 381 OLA Houses displayed.
OLA Houses"
381 selling members have listed 16million items? What am I missing? |

Sixteen million items = 100 sales. Gee, as soon as OLA hits Sixteen trillion items they'll be selling with the big boys.
Hey, metzy, did you make your check out to Fain yet for advertising What flavor of Kool-Aid did he serve this time?
That announcement you keep posting around here doesn't make OLA any better or worse than it already is. It's about the live auctions, which Fain had years ago but dumped. Looks like he's trying again. Guess you guys are all excited over there in OLA-land cuz you're lining up all those 5.00 goodies to sell at live auction! WOO-HOO!
BTW, here is the daily OLA sell-through rate: 0.0002027 if you use PSU numbers. Hey, if you use the OLA numbers you get a whopping 0.0000062! That up and coming OLA, run by whiz kid Chris Fain and promoted by callmemomo is just zooming through the auction universe on it's way to the top! |

Had really high hopes for OLA, thought they would grab this huge opp and run with it. Signed up for 2 accounts in february. Have had continuous listings ever since. Have not sold a single thing! Not one single thing. Gave it fair shot but cancelling at end of this billing cycle |

Don't feel alone in your experiences with
OLA. There are many of us here who gave
it a fair chance to perform (and in the case of
myself, am there now and watching to see if
anything will over come of the place).
A grand total of one sale in the last four months
doesn't inspire a whole lot confidence in them
being that breakout venue that everyone is
longing for. |
