Just wondering I have a Joomla website purchased here on PSU and I am currently using pay pal as my only payment acceptance method. I am considering using on online merchant account with a virtual terminal set up with National Merchant Bancard . They offer a shoping cart and payment gateway for free as well but I do not know if they are compatible to these websites. I really do not want to get into the bother of setting up this option. My question is if I were to use manual capture of credit card info will I be able to capture the cvv code as well or will I have to email the customer for the code to complete the transaction? It has been my experience that customers are leary about an additional request after the think they have made the purchase? Is the manual capture method a viable option and will it capture the cvv code?

While you could capture the details manually, you would need to do that over the phone or a secure page. Email is not secure for the CVV code or other credit card details. Also note that online merchants are forbidden in the USA by Visa from storing the CVV number.

The PSU stores support "Google Checkout, authorize.net , 2Checkout , PayPal , Paymate , NoChex , WorldPay , PayMeNow , eCheck.net , eWay , eProcessingNetwork , BeanStream , and more." Could you sign up with one of those?

PSU Stores are built using a combination of Joomla! and Virtuemart. More info on Virtuemart: http://virtuemart.net/

You can use credit card payments for your PSU store and then enter the credit card numbers manually in your virtual terminal to process them. I wouldn't worry about the cvv code.

When we had our brick and mortar store with our PSU store I just manually entered the credit card numbers into our physical credit card terminal and we never required the cvv code.
