I have been on ioffer for a month and haven't had any sales - lots of lookers but no sales. What am I doing wrong? Any insight is greatly appreciated as I am going broke fast -

Thanks -

Not only ioffer, but many other sites as well. These sites offer free listing so everyone uploads stuff, but the real problem is nobody is buying. Be aware that most of the people who claim business is good around here are just cheerleaders for their site.

And of course, it could also be your stuff... what are you selling anyway?

Register a google checkout on the site. Go back to your preferences under selling I think.....if you don't have google checkout now.....anyway on the home page of google before you sign in usually on my program I can hit Base & you can link all your auctions with a cut & paste & they will be searchable on Google other than just by your 1 store link that you are working with now. It sounds more complicated than it is. Once you get in there & start reading you will be able to do.

Good luck.

I don't know, I've been on IOffer for over two months with no sales, no offers, no anything. A few other sites seem to work better for me. Some sellers who rely on IOffer as their main selling site are likely using some strategies there that I'm not though.

Yes, I agree, each site has its own merits. Everyone needs to check what works best them.

Just don't forget Xmas is around the corner, and everyone should get settled in.

Rolling Eyes Interesting, so my sales exist only in my imagination? The money seems to spend just fine. Does this mean that anyone who claims that business in good on your site will be just a cheerleader? Laughing

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

I've been on iOffer since July 2006 with less than one sale a month.

I agree that the listings are loaded up because they can be imported from eBay automatically with Mr. Grabber. And then the listings sit there. Cool

The main drawback with iOffer is its sluggish system. Doing anything there is like walking through molasses---whether you are trying to list inventory or trying to shop. Rolling Eyes

I really, really try to buy off-eBay. iOffer is so slow and its search engine is entirely unreliable--finds items one time but doesn't with the same search terms two minutes later. (eCrater's is about as bad.)

This has been going on since at least Dec 2006. Sellers complain about it, but apparently the owners have no intentions of correcting it, which is a mystery to me. Question

I have wondered if they are just marking time, building listing numbers, until someone buys them out.

Very Happy I love it when others are successful on iOffer or any other site, but it hasn't been a good experience for me. Embarassed

Most of these 'free' listing sites just try to absorb as many members and items as possible.. sure, a broken clock is right twice a day too so a few will get some sales, but the site isn't making much money. Like someone said, it is just hoping to be bought out. They have no money to invest in an advertising campaign, and therefore will never really become any sort of powerhouse. Those sites are only good for hobbiests and to make an occassional sale. Sadly, to really get bids, we still have to resort to the money feast beast.

Wow, good thing I didn't waste time listing there. I had been thinking about it, but the correspondence between buyer and seller did not seem nice.

The type of buyers on iOffer are just looking for super cheap stuff.

Gee, ebay started as a online garage sale for many hobbiests. Hmmmm.

You do have to work it a bit differently on iOffer- use the google base and do ads or pay per click if that works for you. Using a new site can take up to a year to build up in the ratings and exposure- it ends up being what ever you choose to make of it mostly.

How hard do you want to work at it? That is a direct link to your sales $$ in life- when times are tough, you have to work at selling, not just toss it out there and hope.

Well see, that brings up an interesting issue. If sellers can only do well on iOffer by submitting their items to Google Base or doing paid advertising, that's a problem because iOffer charges kinda high FVFs and charges that FVF on shipping costs too, while there are many sites that charge ZERO FVF that submit all of your items to Google Base for you. So if sellers must do all of that kind of work to get buyers on iOffer, they'd be far better off doing it on a venue that doesn't charge FVF and/or their own personal websites. I get zero sales on iOffer, but do great on Wagglepop where I pay no FVF and don't have to submit my own items to Google Base or pay for any advertising.

That is fine- use what ever site you will that works out for you. Not every site is for everyone.

No ones forces anyone to use one site or another, so choose what works best for each.
