I must admit LurkeyLou that I agree with your assessment and advice.
I would have worded it differently but facts are facts and I wish I had known this before I wasted so much effort 2 years ago.

I think they reached a high of around 1,800 items sold/month, and I think that was when they had nearly 70K listings including SIF. Around Feb. of this year if I'm not mistaken. At that time, the PH seller who has the second largest store on the site and another store on the site (a few thousand items combined) was getting more than 30 times as many sales on Wagglepop as she was getting on Plunder. She is the very best 'case study' in existence because she had more identical listings (across numerous categories) running on both sites at the same time than any other seller. I personally have only had a high of 51 items listed on Plunder (trimmed that down after the script move), but it included ALL of my very best stuff, and I've yet to have a single sale or even a question from a potential buyer there. The closest I've come was when another seller on the forum commented that she liked my dresses and might be interested in one at a later time.

I for one applaud Mo (www.alsoshop.com) for taking the high ground and refusing to stoop to the level of those who opt to spew such ludicrous hate filled propagandistic drivel (Which you laughably tout as fact).

The banner above reflects her sites Live statistics. Feel free to watch it 24/7/365 since you're life apparently revolves around hers, and others. I'd bet if you (and others) spent as much time on your own listings (or own site) as you do sticking your nose into affairs not of your own, you'd be quite successful.

I am editing this now... There's no point in personally attacking you back. But, I am at least responding, which shows I care a little bit about my own dignity.
I, and about 7 billion other humans on this earth would defend their honor to protect their business. I don't need to defend myself because I am successful in more areas of life than most Americans... and so are you if you believe so. To quote you... "Some have it like that, some don't, I do."

Back to the OP like I thought I was doing earlier: iwannabethenextebayalternativefailure.com sites show little to no success. Once you, if you can, beat eBay then you have Amazon laying in wait. Then you have Craigslist. Then you have Buy. Then you have NewEgg. Then Pricegrabber... and you have all the hosted storefronts like Volusion that offer massive traffic. After that, you have about 50 other sites, all with investor's cash to keep them running. Then you have business websites that are easily shopped, with a much better selection and pricing than you can offer on an auction site.
Your best bet is to forget the sites you hear about here. Move onto somewhere you can sell, not just swap recipes in the forum.

I don't need to feed my own ego by holding the fate of 187 sites in my hands, all surviving on my ability to buy freelance hacks and resell them. To quote you... "Some have it like that, some don't, I do."

Here, once again, you have your 'Facts' incorrect, how unsurprising, yet, how predictable for a forum troll. Is name calling and touting inaccurate 'Facts' the best you can do? Based off your posts in these forums, it appears to be the case.

Some people thrive on the need to try and bring others down, in an effort at making themselves feel better. I'm sure it stems from a deeper rooted problem ... Were you abused as a child?

If your ignorance were not as humoring, I may almost pity you.

You know something... it seems like you have your facts wrong. I was trying to be nice enough to remove what I posted. And I still won't repost it, especially since you did the honors. If you felt the need to repost that, then so be it. You have it like that. Same as you, I don't have to prove anything, I know what I know, and if no one believes it I don't give a crap (just another of auctionpimp's statements.)
And a quick question:
Forum troll:
My 283 posts?
Or your 1067?
Or Mo's 3865?
I have responded to your attacks on me regarding statements I made about someone who lives thousands of miles away from you, and you have admittedly never even met. You have no reason, other than the fact that the site is hosted on your server, to care about defending Mo. Mo hasn't responded in 4 months, but you have taken it upon yourself to act on her behalf by spouting your own insults toward people giving nothing more than you give... opinion and observation based on facts. And you call me the forum "troll." Things that make you go hmm... But you did accomplish what you wanted. You helped everyone miss what I said about the non-future of dead end auction sites without whom, you'd be out of a job. That's OK, because some have it like that.

I'll forget about you now, I've said my last piece.

Both of us, Happy, wish we'd have known things before investing so much time and effort. I think nearly any experience that seems a waste can be turned into an asset.

I would have worded it differently, too...but I censored myself

You don't get out much do you? Educate yourself to common terminology: Forum Troll

Once you have done so - Compare your meager post count, and its contents, to the post count and contents of what you ever-so-cleverly pointed out, and the result will become quite clear for you. While doing so, factor into the equation the hundreds, if not thousands of dollars spent on advertising, on this site alone, by me, and by Mo, and then turn around and compare it to your ZERO contribution to this site.

BooHoo. Cry me a river. You feel attacked. Rest assured, you would certainly know it had I attacked you. In fact, it's YOU who has attacked multiple individuals here, myself included, and you actually have the audacity to state that your hate filled crap is "fact"? You're nothing more than an uneducated peon without a clue, who has no life of their own, so you need to attempt to interfere in anothers. You're just a tough 'ol keyboard cowboy who's feeling froggy.

You can dish it out, but can't take it. Get off the porch. You obviously can't hang with the big dogs.

From your link:
"An obnoxious user or member on a forum that goes out of their way to make pointless, offensive, or annoying posts and messages. Often these users are labeled as spammers and will post random off-topic junk in many sections of a forum."

Considering you can't post one on topic message in this thread, and I keep trying to get it back to topic... I'd say that pretty much sums up troll. Someone asked for advice. I gave it. You jumped in with something that meant absolutely nothing to the OP's questions, and I am the troll for defending my advice.
