Bay announced at the eBay Live conference in the middle of June that by this time next year they will no longer offer third party checkout. You can read more about this decision from auctionbytes.com if you are interested. Many users have been asking, How does this affect Auction Checkout?

This decision by eBay actually has no affect on Auction Checkout whatsoever! Auction Checkout does not use third party checkout, but rather we imbed a checkout button that links to our site into your item description of your listings. Because we use this checkout method, we will not be affected by eBay’s decision to end third party checkout.

So don’t worry! Auction Checkout is not going anywhere. We have many loyal sellers using our service and we expect to be on eBay for many more years to come. Thank you for your continued support of Auction Checkout.

Happy Selling!

Auction Checkout Staff

Dont give up. You can still do it.

Hello Wendy,

Do you really believe that ebay will let you put a link of this sort in the item details?

Once they change over, my guess is that links like these will no longer be allowed. You will not even be able to list unless you :

1: Accept Paypal or Propay

2: Have an approved linked merchant account.

Period.

It sucks, but that is what they are trying to do JAN 09.

So, this service may actually qualify as a merchant account?? That's pretty much what this says, directly quoted from their payment process...

"Please note: AuctionCheckout does not collect auction payments. We only collect information on the seller's behalf.

AuctionCheckout is a “checkout service” that enables the seller to process your payment via their merchant account. The seller’s name and phone will appear on your credit card statement."
