I have been a member of ola for about 46 months. and I'm getting tired of the great service I receive over there.
can you guy's believe I have over 75,000 auctions posted there. and ola still has the nerve to charge me only $8.00 a month. where is the excitement in that?
and I had a problem with some of my auctions a week ago. Called the 1800 number. And would you believe someone answered the phone.
Then frank the guy that took my call. Transferred me too. other staff members Janet and Renee. And instead of giving me a lot of crap. They took care of the problem. (WHERE IS THE LOVE.)
Someone here in psu was kind enough to investigate and post my feedbacks for the past month on ola.
they noted I only had 3 positive feedback in the past 30 days.
Well this pissed me off. I immediately called ola. and demanded that ola change there policy and force all buyer to post feedbacks. for sellers.
And would you believe that they had the nerve to say. that the seller has the right to negotiate and sell to there buyers without the buyer placing a bid.
Seem that ola has more seller freedom there. I did notices that the person so concerned about my feedbacks. did not post my total feedbacks .( over 3200.) And since this person is conceded about my sales on ola. don't worry about me. I had 131 off site sales and 52 on site sales this month.
so when ever anyone from ola post a positive feedback here about ola . you guys keep of the good work and post your bull shi? negative replies to them.
Everyone has to have a purpose in life. and it seem there a few here willing to constantly cut down any ola member, that post a favorable ola feedback on psu. |

It's more like this... Disgruntled OLA Sellers come here when they realize they've been misled into believing that OLA is a great site when the reality is OLA is a closed circuit due to lack of promotion. A closed circuit site is fine when it's free. OLA is not a free site. When people fork over $200 (or even 8.00) they have a tendency to expect something in return. You will be successful if you promote yourself at OLA. I suspect that most people who are willing to pay $200 upfront expect OLA to bring them some Buyers. When OLA doesn't meet their expectations, naturally, they go to the message board where the same people who raise hell over here attack them over there. Send in some more Sellers like yourself to represent OLA if you want the site to be taken seriously.
I have to ask, do you check the Verified Buyer only box when you submit your auctions? That would certainly cause a lot of off-site sales. Buyers don't like to pay that $4.00 verification fee to OLA every month that they feel like spending money with OLA sellers. Not every buyer will make contact when they encounter the fee. Some will just leave. Who knows how many? The sellers that are allowed to abuse that feature may well be causing other sellers to lose sales, which is one reason I won't sell at OLA. Let me clarify, by abuse I mean selecting a feature that is meant for auctions with a start bid in the hundreds of dollars, not one that starts at 99 cents.
If OLA management was smart they'd use the site as a portal since they allow links. They could openly charge for that service, rather than endlessly collecting Founding Member fee's that come with promises that have historically been broken since the site opened. |

The average demographic for an OLA buyer is:
A middle aged, high school graduate, male, income <$30,000 per year who buys trading cards.
Stats from Alexa, et al.
Sportscards, you happen to be in the correct venue for what you sell. However, even you are not having a red-banner year at OLA:
Past 7 days - 0, Past month - 3, Past 6 months - 86
For having over 75,000 auctions listed (true) that's not much of a sell-through rate. |

Attack dogs? Careful, your venom is spewing prematurely. Shouldn't you at least wait until you're attacked before getting mean and nasty? That's so metzyish!
I hope you enjoy chatting with yourself. |

Right, the offline sales thing seems to be pretty common.
So, how much do you pay in fees to OLA, then? Is it only the $8 a month or is it more? I've had a lot of trouble figuring out what their fees would end up costing me in an avg month, so I'll ask a member. |

Hey, I just joined OLA.
I sent a Money Order Thursday because I hate online currency, (thus PayPal).
I received a personal phone call today from Janet, I think.. then she wrote me a letter welcoming me. She's totally professional and sounded really nice.
Earlier this summer I had a question pertaining to payments, and received a response that afternoon.
So when Ebay's idiotic requirement to join Paypal finally forced me to join other sites, OLA's and Wensy's seemed closest to the old Ebay model of 1999, the year that I joined Ebay.
Just a few more eyes and a few more infuriating changes by the fools at Ebay may drive enough people to OLA to make it worthwhile.
I sure hope so. |
