Seems a rather large group of patrons or sellers have been booted from the site or banned from the chats at this particular venue. Not a very proper form of business to do this. |

Since OLA seems less a real venue for conducting
serious business and more of a social club, this doesn't
come as a surprise.
As more and more people who joined OLA in the after-
math of the changes going on at eBay see through all
the smoke and mirrors and hype about the site, I'm
sure they became more vocal about their issues with
OLA.
And we know how dissenting voices that run counter to
the OLA party line are treated. |

I can't get into those boards at all tonight. Makes you really wonder what's up over there. It's like they are vacuuming up the thing to get rid of all the dissenting entries-or blocking it all together to us.
Crazy, scarry place over there for sure. Maybe they are cleaning it up so they can clean the pockets of more unsupecting people that are going to mass exodus out of eBay in the coming weeks. Just my thoughts. |

Wow, talk about censorship - here is the latest news from OLA. Funny how they have the time to take down chat but not to get the upgrades completed.
I agree they do not want possible members to read about the problems the site is having.
"Chat Temporarily Offline
Date/Time:09/10/08 12:00 AM
The chat has been temporarily taken down due to abusive type behavior to OLA users and OnlineAuction.com Policy Violations.
We will be reviewing all the contents of the Forums and cleaning them up accordingly.
We will have the forum open again to our users as soon as possible.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
We thank you for your patience."
There was one post this morning from a newbie that tried to cancel his membership - got the run-a-round so contacted BBB. Found out numerous complaints had been filed against OLA - I am sure Fain didn't want people to see that statement. It's funny that all of their news statements start at 12:00 AM even though it wasn't there at 10:00 AM today. |

The guy I believe you are referring to opened and closed his account on the 7th (unless I'm mixed up with another guy--there are so many). His entry was on another thread. He copied and pasted it on various threads. The numerous complaints he spoke of were actually only 3, and I believe the latest on was in 2006. I checked for myself and it is true. I admit I am very shocked there aren't more.
As far as abuse on the OLA board, this should be the wording:
The chat has been temporarily taken down due to the public outcry of a rapidly growing number of unhappy OLA users. |

No they did not state OLA but they did start this thread in the OLA thread section so they must be talking about OLA. |

I have to say, you guys were right about quite a few things. I argued in OLAs favor for a time, but really was learning how this new site worked for me. I did make quite a few good sales, and I have some loyal customers, but this latest round of BS about the feeds etc; and now removing every single post one of our members ever made is really bothering me. Thats not right. They are trying to completely erase him all together. Some of the posts were very informative, and helped alot of users. Cripes, even Ebay doen't delete every post a board member makes, just the offending post. OLA removed all this users posts going back 6 months or so. I signed on as a FM, so am stuck for another 6 months or so, and then if they don't have basic feeds, I will be gone. I already sell on 2 other sites anyway, and working on my own web site too. I've got alot of irons in the fire, and will have to settle down soon or go crazy. LOL! What OLA is doing is wrong period. |

You are so right Patsy. It is a shame that the person that did so much to try and help us is being run out of town like that. The truth hurts and they know it. We probably know the likely candidates that had him rousted. Those few folks are happy with the status quo right now so all they do is try and keep the unhappy people quiet. I am taking all my listing down at the moment and will not be devoting any time to them other than keeping an eye on the unhappy people and trying to shed some light on what they are going through. |

its funny that ola preaches that it is not like the "other" auction site but is becoming "exactly" like it with the way it is controlling people and manipulating people(just see how many cheerleaders are defending a site that is not making them any money? what is their motivation to defend OLA? OLA is a great "social" website where one can go to play games and gossip with other ola members, but ola is not great at all for sales. oh but wait (as posted on every other OLA post there) "people there are nice and friendly and very helpful" like that is going to pay the bills! forget all the social crap, give me sales instead! |

Does OLA have a wish list/want list?
Where you can save an item you want to purchase
at a later time
I pressed the bookmarked button and I don't see
where this item could have been saved. |
