EBAY IS SUSPENDING SELLERS SO WE LOOK ALSEWHER

I WAS A SILVER POWERSELLER ON EBAY FOR 5 YEARS. I HAD OVER 4000 POSSITIVE FEEDBACKS BEFORE THEY STOLE 1200 OF THESE FEEDBACKS MY DSRS WERE 4.8-4.8-4.8-4.6 I HAVE A LOWER SHIPPING DSR. BECAUSE I SHIPPED 30% OF MY ITEMS OVERSEAS AND THAT COSTED MORE AND BUYERS DIDNT UNDERSTAND. I HAD 1 NEGATIVE FOR A 3.99 LIGHTER TO FRANCE THE REASON SHE GAVE ME NEGATIVE IS BECAUSE I DIDNT SHIP WITH FLINT AND FLUID-(SHIPPING THIS WAY IS AGAINST POSTAL REGULATIONS) SHE NEVER ASKED A QUESTION AFTER SEVEN DAYS SHE JUST LEFT A NEGATIVE. NOW WITH THE REASON I WAS SUSPENDED I SAW A SET OF CHANEL SCENTED PENS LISTED ON EBAY ON 10-15-08. I NEW I HAD A SET OF THESE MY MOTHER PURCHASED FROM CAIN SLOANS BECAUSE I HAD THE RECEIPT FOR THESE. SO I LISTED THEM ON EBAY. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT IS STUNNING I WOKE UP ON SATURADY 10-18-08 AND FOUND ALL MY AUCTIONS COMPLETELY GONE ALL MY SLAES I HAD PREVISOUSLY MADE GONE. IT SAYS IM NO LONGER A RESISTERED USER. I CONTACTED EBAY WITH NO ANSWER AT ALL AND THE LIVE HELP SAYS THEY CANT DO ANYTHING I HAVE TO CONTACT TRUST AND SAFETY. I SENT AN EMAIL TO THEM THEY SAID THAT CHANEL NEVER MADE THESE PENS SO IT WAS A VIOLATION OF THE VERO PROGRAM. AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO SEND IN A COPY OF MY LICENSE AND A COPY OF A BANK ACCOUNT AND A COPY OF A UTILITY BILL. I THEN ASKED HOW LONG I WOULD BE SUSPENDED FOR, THEY GAVE NO GOOD ANSWER THEY SAID IT WOULD BE REVEIVED AFTER 5 DAYS OF RECEIVING THE INFO, IT SAID WITH MY RATINGS AND GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE IT SHOULD BE NO PROBLEM HE THEN TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE AT LEAST 5 SUSPENDED SELLERS A MONTH FOR LISTING THIS ITEM. THEY KNOW THIS IS A ITEM THAT IS NOT ALLOWED ON EBAY AND I ASKED IS THERE SOMEWHERE IN THE HELP PAGES THAT SAYS THIS ITEM IS NOT ALLOWED HE SAID NO THERE ISNT AND ITS UP TO THE SELLER TO VERIFY AN ITEMS AUTHINTICITY. SO I SAID FINE BUT I DID SOME RESEARCH THIS IS THE EXACT EMAIL RESPONSE FROM CHANEL----AUTHENTICATION

Seriously, diversify.

I have been looking at these other sites, and how they work.
Ioffer has a nice look and a name, it is a good place.
bonanzle has some nice options and is different and is gaining a name
and I'm kinda a cheerleader of plunderhere, they have customer service (+ they have three ways to import ebay items, from live listings, with the bulk lister and turbo lister files, or send your turbo lister files to site[at~]plunderhere.com .. they don't advertise they will import for you but they will!)

and there are many others, diversify, don't keep all your eggs in one basket, even after you are allowed back on ebay.

I sold on ebay and was a silver PS at one time. That was before the PPC ads started. They knocked my business down by 75% then it just kept going down.

I have 2 websites and have good sales on the billphil.com. I just redesigned the dieselequipment.net site and am loading product to it. It takes time to get many listings on. I have 600 on billphil.com and would like that many on dieselequipment.net. Takes time.

I have a store on ioffer and have sold one item in a year. I have 70 listings there. May work into something some day. LOL.

Need to put more stuff on ecrater but the websites keep me busy now.

ebay is down my list of things to do. Since I closed ebay store I have had more time and a renewed interest in developing an independent online business.I don't want another store where someone else is in control. I usually get the short end of the stick.

I did have a good run on ebay and made good money. This has given me some knowledge of the internet and online selling. So, on to bigger and better things.

Present ebay management including donawho are a bunch of inexperienced idiots. Shades of AOL LOL.

Check out Bonanzle and Atomic Mall. Although they are newer sites, these sites show up high on the search engines and sellers seem to be having more success for less effort then they do on other akternative sites.

I have a set of the pens your talking about, in the original box, inside box it says, "Perfumed writing Pens, ARPEGE then a crown, CHANEL NO.5, 14 KT GOLD, EXCLUSIVE DESIGN." I guess from watching the movie on her, Arpege made them, & she sold them with her name on them? I don't know if this will help you in the future.? Lin

Quantcast is good too. They measure traffic directly which is a much more accurate method of calculating a site's real traffic:

You're welcome Renegade....but I think Atomic Mall can be a good place for these types of items too....I think people should do tests, take about a dozen items and try them on different sites and then see how they compare on Google and other search engines...I have noticed that Atomic Mall's search engine expsoure has passed even eCrater's which used to be the benchmark.....

Very nice chart Mike, and both of those other sites are quantified, right? Considering Atomic Mall is just a start up, we are doing very well in terms of traffic when compared to many of the more estblished sites.

Granted, my view may be skewed but I don't see how atomicmall is going to work. I really don't. it isn't IE compatible (?) and slow loading as it is now, how will it handle serious traffic? Maybe i'm missing something from the equation here....

I sell Collectibles on Atomic Mall and have had pretty good sales. As a matter of fact, my sales on Atomic Mall are quickly surpassing my sales at Ruby Lane, which is a niche site just for Antiques and Collectibles. I am also finding my items on Google from AM above all my other venues. I really have a great feeling about it's future. It may not be growing as fast as some, but it is steady and solid.

Still waiting for a sale at the Bonanzle! Havn't been there long, so it may just take a while. Hoping for the best for all this Season!!!! Very Happy

I use IE and I have no problems at all with using Atomic Mall. I have Mozilla but have not yet needed to use it.

I use IE7 on dial up even, and it loads as fast as most sites for me. I think you might be alluding to the Image Loader compatibility to IE7. You can use ImageCave to host your photos and simply copy and paste the pre-made URL into the loading window and add up to 6 pics at a time. It is a little more time consuming, but it works great that way. I also wish a better Image Loading system could be figured out, but hey, show me a site that doesn't have to make a few upgrades as they go, and I'll be glad to use it. The main thing for me is that the site is innovatively solid and functioning, i.e. SALES!!!!! Very Happy

It actually is IE compatible, but you need to have the latest version of IE. The obsolete versions don't work very well with our site.

Any page in particular? All pages load quite fast for me and most of the users I've talked with. Are you on dialup or broadband?

I guess that depends on what you consider "serious". We're doing ok now with 5000+ uniques a day. That typically translates to about 3/4 of a million daily hits. Server upgrades will be implemented as needed to assure the site doesn't bog down. (we've already had one)
