With all the talk about Bidville stores being such a great value in the marketplace imagine my surprise to clicking on the "all stores" button and finding 13 pages of them totaling just 291 stores.

The other day it was more than 400.

YIKES!

Shocked

I guess you were surprised, didnt your awful needless stats tell you day from night? 12 noon is not midnight. Come back tomorrow night and try it again. Lil' who?

On that quick drop in the number of Bidville storefronts, I thought there were 432 storefronts earlier, which would be $2,150 a month in revenue for the auctionsite. With the decline they are now generating just $1,455 a month in revenue.

Perhaps the Bidville.com representative would be kind enough to comment on the "situation."

Just out of curiosity, I went through the Bidville stores today - one by one.

Anyone who thinks it is a bias report, please feel free to disregard or delete this post. Some might be interested though. Here we go:

As of today, Dec 13, 2005

Total store count 310
out of these 1 is a teststore, 1 is a BV-owned store.

Empty Stores 49
Stores with 3 or less items 34

(they look very deserted)

IMO total active stores 259

By store name:

A - Total 21, less than 3 items 3, empty 2
B - Total 24, less than 3 items 3, empty 4
C - Total 21, less than 3 items 4, empty 2
D - Total 18, less than 3 items 1, empty 2
E - Total 10, less than 3 items 2, empty 0

I - Total 07, less than 3 items 0, empty 1
J - Total 12, less than 3 items 0, empty 1
K - Total 07, less than 3 items 1, empty 2

M - Total 17, less than 3 items 2, empty 4
N - Total 08, less than 3 items 0, empty 2
O - Total 06, less than 3 items 0, empty 2
P - Total 14, less than 3 items 1, empty 1
Q - Total 01, less than 3 items 0, empty 0
R - Total 09, less than 3 items 1, empty 1

lotsofgoodstuff,

Thanks for browsing through the Bidville mall, store-by-store. I know that was time consuming. I don't understand the logic of paying for a storefront and then not using it.

There is very good logic, it is low cost advertising, taken and then used when seller wants to use it. Timing and time is what they do.
If you can't afford $5 a Month then a person should not try selling. Certainly banned sellers can not use it.

I wonder why the auction count never returned? The upgrade to Oracle is well over. The Store count has been inflated for a very long time. BVCS was informed several times and chose to delete threads and suspend members rather than correct the issue.

lotsofgoodstuff, the same empty stores have been empty for many months, some almost a year now. Your figures are correct and if you check in a month, they won't change much at all. In fact, you'll note the same empty stores are the same ones you found with your last viewing.

It is not surprising that the number of stores is no longer posted on the home page as a statistic by Bidville.

And for this you'll be scrutinized. Sorry BV crowd, your attacks have ruined it, this is the bed you've made for yourselves.

What Bed?? The bed of current-lies that belong with yesterdays, are being posted here by know-no betters, or just jealous rest and peace of mind. Yes we members have an excellent auction site that many will soon envy.
Thank you very much. I just love the banned ones Laughing

To all who find a problem with fact at BV: It only takes time for you to find out the numbers do not match and they ALWAYS are in FAVOR of BV.
Give it a try.

Yes I am one who was banned. Why? I asked what happened to my auctions and why on several forums? Then posted on PSU. 18 hours later "you are banned email". Never did know what happened to all those auctions.

To this day with all the promises from the new BV people not even a please join us again. As a public Company you can find out who is running the show. Funny the numbers there are not a match. ??

Funny a publicly traded company needing to sell credits? The stock is what is used to finance the company. Must be hard to sell the stock?? Or get private funding??

Happy New Year to all and to all...................
Happy days to you till we meet again,

view it - it's not jealousy, it is befuddlement that a company behaves as they do, so many discrepencies in data presented by them.

Many of us left long before they 'banned' us. I sold there for one month, did well during that month but the managements behavior raised too many questions. So, the more I looked the more I saw what was behind the screen, the wizard really wasn't a wizard at all.

Accepting factual data for what it is has always been a healthy way to make decisions. That's why so many have left. For those who wish to stay, fine, but to deny the truth is to defend the nonsense that we all know exists.
