Okey dokey. Netdropshipper, hotbuys4u, ezdropshipper, megagoods.com, wholesalemarketer. There are a bunch. Even if they're not complete frauds they suck.

I don't have one. While you're waiting for someone with this kind of info to post, you might consider Googling the name of the business along with words like: sucks, ripped me off, horrible, didn't deliver, lied about...you can think of more!

And do the same search with positive words, too...like: happy with, great, reliable, customer care, quality...

HERE IS A NEW TWIST ON DROP SHIPPING:

And now the State Employment Office is targeting newspapers - they were popping up everywhere this past summer and while I didn't get
involved but the "AD" in the employment section caught my eye.

This is how it works, they put an ad in the newspaper, wanting eBay
Sellers with at least 500 positive feedbacks with no lower than 95%,
and 'you're guaranteed to earn $500 or more a week'.

I didn't have to call one company, because their address showed me that
they were just right around the corner about a mile away, so I stopped by.

What you do is - You list Wall Paper - using their Product Information
Sheet and Photo. They tell you the starting price (via Dutch Auctions),
and the availability. Gallery is required - no exceptions. The Policies
is also required, and the company provides all the information including
legal information.

THEY will send you an email with the html format where customers uses
to check-out (shopping cart system) and pays the company directly,
and selects the shipment option. And the Company handles everything,
and on Fridays - the Seller has to arrive to pick up paycheck, based
on their selling performance.

You're allowed to list anywhere and encouraged to list everywhere! In
order to get $500.00 a week, you would need to sell at least 1,000
wallpaper rolls, and they stressed they deduct all required taxes and
social security. And the Seller does NOT need a business license because
they would be "employed by the company", but YET - the Seller is
completely responsible to make sure all fees are paid and it comes out
of their paycheck??????

I got really suspicious - and when I came home and used my adding
machine (they didn't realize that I'm a former Contractor so I know
how many rolls a customer typicall use whether boarders or the rolls
(wallpaper) ).

By the time I added up everything - including fees - the Seller only
earns approximately 9 cents per item sold!!! That is AFTER the fees
have been paid and only IF half of the items listed got sold at the
minimum order!

I personally went back there after I made sure the calculations were
correct and had a word with the Vice President there - he thought the
whole thing was funny and simply said, "Hey, we hired you, you've gotta
do what we say or you're fired!" I told him, I am NOT hired by anyone,
and that I would expose them for all they're worth.

I called eBay and see if it violated any policies and no it didn't, I called
several other auction sites, and it didn't violate any policies there ...
SOooooooooooooooooooooooo ....

Twisted Evil

I reported them to the State Employment Office and provided them all
the documentations! It was ILLEGAL - and by law they would have to be
paid an hourly wage and the whole thing while being cleverly done was
indeed illegal.

This company was fined, and later they found out that a handful of people
were sucked into this and a couple of them had to file bankruptcy because
they couldn't pay the auction site's fees! But that was all reversed, and
the SEO made THEM pay the paychecks back to the "employees" and made THEM pay the fees!

BUT - I wasn't the only person to REPORT this practice. The Newspapers
have been alerted and they're to report anyone who puts an employment
ad requesting this, so all of this garbage/rip-offs have nearly vanished
from the newspapers.

It seems that these companies are finding different ways to word it and
try to nab vunerable and desperate people into a "Work at Home, We Do
All the Work for you.." type employment security!

I have to strongly disagree with you on hotbuys4u. I have dealt with this company extensively and their customer service AND response AND product description AND shipping on time etc has been always outstanding. My own customers have raved about me and this company because every order sent came just as it was advertised, right on time and in one instance when the product, a camera was sold out just as I put in my order the company gave my buyer a MORE expensive camera at NO ADDITIONAL COST! They even gave him a 20.00 rebate on top of it!!! I call that going way beyond good customer service!!!!
I had dealt with other dropshippers before and I have eliminated them all. Hotbuys4u is the only company I'm dealing with now and I cannot complain about them one iota. You can even talk to a LIVE person when you call and they will help you immediately. There are dropshippers who promise all kinds of things and never follow through. Not this company. They are truly the example for all dropshippers and how to conduct business.

Buff, I can't help with drop-ship but I do have a banner for a good wholesale overstock company here
http://teapotdee.com/page004.htm

It says it sells to ebay sellers, and that is just because it knows ebay sellers are looking for stuff. The company offers excellent bargains on wholesale lots that you then ship out yourself as you sell.

IMO, you are in a lot more control of your business that way. You can sell from anywhere, you control your feedback by avoiding bad performance from the supplier, and you can even get a shelf in a B&M consignment store to sell your things direct.

I also disagree about hotbuys4u. They have great customer service and products. I've sold a few items off their site, but have bought even more for myself.

All the rest are truly bad. You can add GICDropshipping to the list. Unfortunately for me, I learned the hard way with them.

I'm VERY careful about using dropshippers and will check the sales and inventory counts for 2 weeks before I sell anything. I'll average how many sell per day and be sure that there is double that amount in stock before I list it.

So, I found a few items that fit the criteria and I listed one. It was a comforter set and it sold for almost $100.00. I went to the site and saw there were over 60 left, so I placed my order. I had a good feeling, because I pocketed around $20.00 after fees.

The next day, I get an e-mail confirming the dropship address, which I did immediately. Still thinking everything was cool. They pulled the items, have it ready to go and are just doublechecking the address. Nope, two days later, I get a notice that the item is no longer in stock and I would be getting a refund shortly.

Boy was that e-mail I sent to them every toasty. I did get the refund and had to refund everything back to the customer. He was extremely upset and I'm not so sure I won't get a neg. The unfortunate thing is that it was the only sale I had on that ID, so I'll probably have an ID with a -1 FB.

At least I got my money back, but they gave me absolutely no reason why my order didn't hold one of the items and no reason why it says there were still some available AFTER my order was refunded.

There ARE some good dropshippers out there. I use one now. The one I use now allows you to reserve items for up to 10 days, so if you get a bid, you can go in and place your reserve on the item and it will make sure it's available for you. They also carry overstock on their items, so if an item sells out, you can inquire to see if they have more "in the back".

I'm sorry about the HotBuys4u claim, but I'm still not convinced they're real. They seem to be the same site as ezdropshipper, and I don't trust ayn of these sites that are basically catchy domain names. The pricing wasn't that good, it was right in the open for everyone to see, and there is really no stopping anyone from coming in, setting up an account and buying at "wholesale" prices.

Basically if I'm looking for a bargain I can't sign up at any drop shipper site and get the wholesale cost then leave. Well, with this stie you can. Ofcourse, the pricing was never that good and the items were very, very random. I just don't see them as legitimate distributors, although they may have excellent customer service. I could set up my site and be a "drop shipper" for anyone on this board, and basically use my own distributor to do the work for me. I might compensate my sellers when items sell out, or do provide excellent service as you have received, but that doesn't make me a real drop shipper

I still don't believe they're real, but they might be great to deal with! I don't believe a real drop shipper can even exist that does not force customers to submit tax and business licences. Hotbuys4u does not do this, or at least didn't when I signed up, and I'd even look into whether or not it's legal for a site to to knowingly sell to resellers without finding out tax info.

I know what you mean about the name. Those names bother me too.

But their actual name is Premier Products International. They also set up sites exactly like theirs for a monthly fee and you an adjust your prices accordingly, so that's probably what ezdropshipper does.

Oh Yeah, I remember the Premier Products, and I'm glad it's profitable for sellers. Really, I didn't expect it to be and didn't find any products that could really beat pricing on "Completed Listings" at eBay. The fact that it doesn't look for business licencing and tax ID's is the giveaway for me, but a profit is a profit and I'd go with it. If Netdropshipper.com is still up and running, then this site might stick around for a while longer without concern. I would look for other drop shippers though. Always have a plan B Smile.

<<<< I don't believe a real drop shipper can even exist that does not force customers to submit tax and business licences.>>>>

I agree with Roundabout on this. I require that information from my wholesale customers and my suppliers require it from us.

I kind of imagine that those who rave about a company that will sell wholesale to anyone, is probably someone operating without a business license or a Resale Tax Certificate. (not fact, just a thought, so don't scream at me, if it doesn't apply to whomever is reading this, not personal, just my thoughts, as we have been in business for nearly 4 years and have learned a few things along the way).

Being that they don't require that info, I would have to wonder what their license portfolio consists of and whether or not all of their ducks were in a row legally.

How do they justify selling to those in their own state without that info and not charge the sales tax? Or are they charging sales tax? Anything I have to wonder that much about, requires a big NEXT.......but that is just my opinion. We all have belly buttons, and we all have opinions.

I used in the past 2 dropshippers that were great to work with:
A1AGifts out of Florida and Wayne' Wholesale out of Missouri.
I still buy from both to re-sell in consigment shops. They are always adding new products.
I stopped listing from them because so many people use them online. Then you have the listers who would list an item for .99 then charge 24.99 shipping. I couldn't compete because so many people list like that.
But I can say that these companies are great and I purchase stuff from them all the time for re-sale in consignment shops.

Hope that helps! Have a great evening!

Talking about and naming the dropshippers/sources that you use and like is fiancial suicide. I would not recommend that anyone do that on this forum. Remember you might just be fueling your competition. Why do the hard work of researching sources just to give them away?

I have used some dropshippers and have been very satisfied with them. Sometimes they run out of stock and leave me up the creek. That is the down side, you loose control of your own business. For this reason, nothing is better than buying in large quantities/bulk and having items in your own stock.

You will find that the margins are much larger when you cut out the drop shipping middleman. Find the manufacturer or distributor if the manuf wont sell direct. Don't mess around with middlemen.
