A lot of online sellers also submit to google, yahoo, msn and otherr related Internet websites daily to get more traffic to their dedicated auctions or web sites.

natemartin1976,

I saw your post about your site last week. Why are you now posting the same thing in all kinds of threads that are not relevant to your site ?? For most of us, that is concidered SPAM and you will risk getting yourself banned here. Not cool at all.

Carol

Just went to this address & tried to comprehend what on earth they are saying to do. I'm lost. No clue how you put a meta tag or html code into your site header? I have my own site & will ask the person who set it up for me I'm guessing? But do I need to do that for each of my other sites also like ecrater & plunderhere? The more I read the more confused I get. T'ain't easy being a computer dunce.

http://www.google.com/intl/en/submit_content.html

I do submit my site url's to the google search link but this is all something different right?

What I was really interested in was google seems to have something in that Webmaster thing that will let you know about errors they find with your sites & where exactly your sites are in their searches. Sounds valuable to know!

Any experts out there who can explain this in small words, sloooooowly, LOL TIA

Oops meant to ask Elgato about her post above saying some sellers submit their sites daily to google, msn, etc. That's the first I've heard that? I thought you could only submit it one time. Should I be doing it daily? Yikes! No wonder no one can find me lately.

First of all FPD, I'm a male Cat not a female Laughing But I do have a few female felines among my local herd here Very Happy

When time allows, I always post my web site's ur onto msn, yahoo, google and a couple of others of which appear to be a waste of time IMHO.

Online sellers must get their name out there no matter where they choose to list or sell there items.

Elgato, I was just under the understanding that you put your url's into msn, google, etc & they stayed there forever working their way up on the list. LOL Guess I misunderstood?

Feebay finally got to the point that I felt it intolerable to keep my store open but at least I felt like my listings did show up fairly well in google (One of the very few features of feebay I was satisfied with).

Oh well!

If you want to get your site indexed and listed on the search engines fast, don't use their silly submit forms. Go out and get yourself some links from places that get crawled every day like digg.com, netscape.com, Yahoo answers, etc... That will get you the fastest turnaround to getting trusted, indexed, and ranked by the search engines.

Back in march, all of these accepted one of my sites within a couple weeks. I have dozens of domains, so submitting them all to that huge list of 200 directories every time was out of the question, so I noted which ones accepted me quick with no strings. I think one or two switched to pay though, but I forgot which ones.

Now, when I have a new site go online, I submit to search engines, dmoz, and these directories...I still get a great acceptance rate from them. I plan on updating the list soon with others that accepted me semi-quick(1-4 months), but some here know how much of a slacker I am on stuff like that Laughing

I guess I did something right someplace because when I google my ID I get over 5000 returns. A good many (top ones too) are for my site. Some from ecrater, plunderhere, blujay & half.com where I also have stores active. Some from feebay that I very rarely ever list anything anymore & other sites that I no longer belong to.

Is there anyway to weed out the ones no longer related to active sites for me? I notice google seems to pick up every other word I say on a forum so I better watch what I say, LOL Interesting
