This fake company decided they would like to hack into my bank account and take $69.00. At this time, I am not quite sure how they did it, but I suspect that it might have something to do with my stored Paypal debit cards. The charge will appear on your bank statement like this:
LE *LIVING ESSENTIALS 800-5881316 CA

When you call the number, it is an automated recording stating if you wish to cancel your subscription, enter your account number, or credit card number. They've got to be kidding right?

I've already submitted an online complaint with the FTC and will contact my bank ASAP this morning to cancel account, and to try to recoup amount that was stolen, but I thought I would post here so that everyone can be aware, I originally found this website by other people that have posted similar stories in the general chat forum, but thought this warranted a posting in the fraud forum as well.

Tighten up those bank accounts and credit cards. I thought I had the safest system...Apparently I was wrong.

I check my bank account daily "thank god" for paranoia. I noticed a charge for only$1.00, but I had never heard of the company. You guessed it ! Healthy living essentials. I called my bank and canceled my mac\visa. I have already received my new one, and it's number is not stored online anywhere. I cancelled that payment method in my paypal account.
It has been 2 weeks and I just received my welcome packet yesterday. No info about website and the same phone number that has no answer. Also no address.
Thanks for the info, hope this helps someone else.

that's usually a red flag...they're trying to see if the info they have on ya is correct!

Actually - the average John & Jane Doe ARE shredding their documents
or rendering it useless (and believe it or not, there's people that
actually BURNS everything - toss into a fireplace or in the backyard
BBQ grill)

BUT YET - Morons continue to get our personal info ...

INSOMUCH - many States have begun blocking internet access to public
records (at one time - in Florida - you could obtain my name, address,
city, state, zip, telephone number, date of birth, etc etc etc ... AND
my social security number AND Driver's License!!!)

Many Counties have cracked down on what can be viewed online via
Public Records ... and some have begun to restrict what the Public can
view on Public Records in the Courthouse (further information, you would
have to provide the Clerk your own personal information AND often
having to PAY for documents to view it).

AND ...

Idiots take home sensitive data (one was on the news not that long ago
with the Veteran's Administration)

Dingbats tosses full info into trashbins that ends up in the dumpster,
where anyone could pick up info out on the streets via dumpster diving!

AND of course ....

There's Trojans & Backdoors that infects computers that snatches your
personal information...

Then there's Phishers & Spoofers that lulls unsuspecting folks to click
on the link and provide sensitive information or they face the risk of
loosing their account or face termination of accounts...

THEN there's HACKERS - they've managed to bypass/disable or in
some cases - being entirely fraudulent Company that's been granted
access ... to our personal information - everything - from bank account
numbers to everything you are and own!

AND .........

That's not all ..........

There's piggybacking of IP's - where they can be wherever you are
and watch and monitor everything you do and then encrypt and decipher
everything! Where they can send emails using your own email
address(es). They can come under as you and cause so much trouble
that the victim themselves are totally UNAWARE of anything occuring!

And then there's the Account Dilemma ...

There's people that lump together on the internet - all having one
account (roommates, friends, family, relatives, neighbors) ... and without
the other party being aware of anything - they snoop into other people's
accounts (and it's ILLEGAL - except for parents of minors who're
monitoring their children's accounts) ... Same level of crime as if
your landlord walked up to your mailbox and opened and read your
mail! However, Corporations & Businesses are exempted and they
must disclose to their employees that they monitor their emails, activities
and so forth... there's still some debating on specifically what they can
monitor.

Lots of people are finding this out the hard way - you just cannot march
in and shut someone down because it's in your name and you can do
what you darned well please! And there's people who are in jail, who're
being sued, or both! There's a critical case from one of my sister's
co-workers where she works, where her roommate lied to them in stating
they shut it down, and simply just changed the passwords, and began
forwarding and making a mockery of their emails and harassing their
friends and family with nastiness, and she had to spend weeks letting
all those folks and especially her parents - know that it wasn't her!

And the Cops have stated it's the same level of Federal Crime as if your
Landlord walked into your mailbox and took your mail, opened it, and
harassed and ticked everyone off or even shredding it that was not
addressed to them!

AND PLUS it's very dangerous as well - because it often enables them to
gather and use your own information to buy, sell, commit fraud, and a
heck a lot of other damages too!

AND to share an account with someone - whether it's ONE computer
or if everyone had their own - carries some risk ... especially if one's
got a trojan/virus/worm or minimal/lack of - security & protection!
