Recently found the RSS button/link on my products at Base and have been submitting the feed's URL to different directories, etc. I was submitting away, all happy, tra-la-la-la-la, submit, submit, submit - then I actually looked at the feed. It only shows ten products. I went back to all of my products, clicked to next page (the next 10 products), checked the RSS feed, and it's only showing THOSE ten products on that page...What is up with that? I'm really kind of new to RSS, is there something I'm missing here? Shouldn't the feed show ALL 125 Base products? I sent an email to Google to find out, but who knows when they will get back to me Sad

Put together a little HTML Google template that has a click to enlarge function, too. I use inkfrog, and their default photo album is http://img.inkfrog.com/pix/user/photo name.jpg. The thumbnails are at http://inkfrog.com/thumbn/user/thumbnail name.jpg. Google will not accept my template because it contains the word "pix" (which is the default folder on Inkfrog, apparently). That means I have a cute little click to enlarge template that enlarges to show - thumbnails. What to do??? I can't even change folders on Inkfrog, because no matter what folder I create, it will come under the "pix" default folder. Evil or Very Mad

I could move all of my images over to another image host, or just use the ones on my website - but then the over 1,000 things I have on Ioffer and sprinkled around other sites would lose their images, because they all have templates using the images I have stored on Inkfrog.

This must be what Mom meant by "if it's not one thing, it'll be another"!

Update: No response from Google yet on the RSS problem. They did respond about my custom Google Base template though - basically, I am outta luck, cannot use the word "pix" in a Base listing (for those to who it will matter, also, you cannot use the word "replica" but can use the word "inspired"!)

But Greg @ Inkfrog came through like a champ for me! I explained the problem to him, and he fixed it in 1.5 seconds. Now the template works whether I use the "pix" folder or the "pics" folder, as he suggested. I can only think he must have copied all my images (and I have tons) into a 2nd "pics" folder. What a guy!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Gonna go find a place where I can give him an extra donation, he didn't even charge me more for hosting that 2nd folder full of images!

I guess I'll just have to mess around and try to figure my own Google feed out and pack it in the Base template (sigh)...they sure don't make things easy over there at Googlio (not everyone is a PhD ya know, some of us have to stumble around and make a lot of boo boos before we get it right LOL!)

I know what you mean about Google not making it easy. Every time I take a look at loading my things, I step back and say " I've got better things to do right now" and give it up.

What's worse is the GBase search !! It's too much like that horrible "smart search" on E. I entered a search for a specific camera I'm looking for. On Froogle I get the camera on the first 5+ pages. On Base, I get nothing but accessories for the camera but no cameras. How stupid is that !!!

Finally, after 2 weeks, a response on the RSS issue, the direct quote from "Phil" at Google:

Quote: › Thank you for writing in with your question. In answer to your questions, there is not already an RSS feed containing all your items. If you wish to create an XML bulk upload for all your items, you will need to create it yourself.

Redefines short and sweet. If Google Base is posing itself as an Ebay usurper, all I can say is they are well on their way - poor search function and extremely slow customer service response that provide little or no information HA!

I suppose Google keeps the RSS feed seperated in pages to cut down on bandwidth just like eCrater does.

It does make it tough on those of us that aggregate feeds too!

I would think these sites would want ALL of their sellers items for sale to go out through RSS as easily as possible.

I agree, AuctionRSS! Why would they not want all Base items included in either a universal or by seller feed? Pinchin' pennies at the wrong place, I think.

Still going to list on Base, but it just shifted down some on my priority list!

I'm out of town and just caught this - I have gone to from one item to "see all items from this seller" to get to the RSS feed.

Just so I'm clear - that RSS is only going to give 10 items? I'm going there now - that is really strange.

Yep, that's where I was getting the RSS feed from, too, and still can - "see all items of this seller". The feed only shows the 10 items on that page. If you want the next page (or the next hundred pages), they have different feed URL's

Bugger to that. Set up my own RSS feed with Feed For All, hosting it on my blog, and submitting it with my website RSS feed on my own.
