*waves* Hi everyone,

I have to admit that I was never a powerseller on ebay...really don't have an excuse or reason as to why but I was informed about this site a while back and thought I would join and see what I could learn from all you powerful people! You know the ol' saying...basically be around and surround yourself with successful people and you'll become one as well...though I never could figure out if that was by osmosis or just association Thumbsup (would use just a wink but can't find that guy anywhere).

I have gotten fed up by their constant rate hikes and other nonsense. Especially dealing with China freebies etc....
I had a store for a short while but not too long after they raised those fees and I, not making any sales, except for here and there, got tired of losing money....

ok I'm rambling...my apologies...I'm just looking forward to learning as much as possible and being a "stand up member".

Best Regards,

Titania's Bower

Hi Titiana,

You sound like me. I've never been a powerseller, and I only had a store on eBay for a short time -- and I did that because I bought into the heavy promo. Tough time with sales. Was doing okay and then around April 2005 everything was being paid out and nothing was coming in.

But I've learned a lot here and you will, too. Try not to get discouraged, either. It's tough being a crafter or an artist.

When you get settled with what you're doing you might want to also check out Etsy and eCrater as other possible venues. The best I've done has been on eCrater, but sales are still extremely sporadic. Etsy was I on since February 2006 and have had my first sales in the last six weeks, with three being in the last two weeks.

My frustration is that all my sales everywhere, with one or two exceptions have been the same item -- the Martha poncho. I understand this partly because it's a very practical item and with things being tough all over people do buy practical.

Like you, I am searching for my audience. They're out there; it's just a matter of finding them and that will take work.

Anyway, so a very big welcome.
