hi folks! due to a family crisis, i was gone fer a while--couldnt even list!--but now i'm back. (sorry. Laughing )

anyway, i have a good one fer ya. my best friend shipped an item to california, & guess what the buyer received? an empty box! so my BF sent her the green PO insurance receipt to submit a claim, because she insures everything.
Smile

well, the buyer goes to the PO...& they refuse to accept the green receipt as proof of payment--they want the white receipt too! this is impossible, since my BF typically sends out 20 packages in one visit. if ya cut up the receipt, it's useless; & the frighteningly cooperative PO isnt about to give her 20 separate receipts.
Confused

so she advises the buyer to speak to the postmaster, not just a clerk. which the buyer does, taking the emtpy box & all the documentation she has. the PM takes one look at the box & sez (wouldja believe), "there's no tape on it." well, duh--the tape has been removed by whoever stole the item!
Rolling Eyes

sheesh! finally my BF went to her PO & axed the clerk, whom she's known fer years, what to do. he told her to tell the buyer to send all the materials back here, & he would process the claim!
Very Happy

jeez louise. thank goddess fer friends at the PO. but what the hel are they trying to pull now? since when isnt the green receipt acceptable as proof of insurance payment? and if it isnt...why should we purchase it at all?
Question

I agree you do have to watch the PO, last week hubby mailed a pkg for me.
It was $1.54 more than the same package I had mailed the last week.
He did not know and did not question the PO.
From now on I will double check my weight and put a bright red price on a note taped to the pkg.
Most of the time I do not have a problem and I have nice folks who service my needs at the PO. I don't know when the Holiday part time folks begin to work, but when they do work I watch more closely because of past experience.

Post and let us know if the person does get there refund.

Happy Trails to you till we meet again,

Hey, NPP! Good to see you back again, and sorry to hear of your USPS probs! They really are amazing, I tell 'em all the time, you guys are starting to make UPS look really good!

I don't use their insurance anymore, uh uh. I shipped a big shipment of mason rings internationally last year, added the insurance, figured if they claimed they didn't get them, Paypal would take back the money, but I'd file the claim and get my money back.

This person was a scam artist, got the rings (I know because he put them for sale in his store the day after he won the PP claim!). I printed out every one of those auctions, took the stamped USPS insurance receipt down, and the documents re the PP claim as item not received.

The upshot was they denied it, claiming I didn't have enough proof. Proof of what they didn't say. I had proof of insurance, and proof that the buyer was claiming he didn't get the goods. Last time I ever used them to insure.

Should check out U-Pic Insurance & Postal Services they are so much more reliable (and less expensive) than the USPS!

Welcome back NPP! Sorry to hear there have been 'life issues' keeping you away - you have been missed!

It's funny the timing of your post here. I have a package that's MIA as we speak. It did not have insurance, and it's been in process since 9/25 - bummer 4 sure.

The good news - the buyer is a repeat customer, so they know that when I tell them it's in the mail - it's true. We're both researching from our ends looking for the package. The PO is NOT very helpful at all - and I'm being very nice when I state this.... Rolling Eyes Crying or Very sad

yeah, the buyer did get her money back. but her own PO should be taking care of this, not the seller's! jeez--more work fer us!
Rolling Eyes

I am not sure where to post this... but what about sellers who charge ridiculous amounts for S&H? I sell also and weigh it at home and give the buyer a rough idea of the price. I don't charge them for waiting in line or my drive to the PO. I had one lady who would be mailing a jewelry cloth, charge $4 to send. Ridiculous. Then I get the package and see it only cost .52 to send. Why don't they just up their price instead of trying to justify all the ridiculous excuses they come up with. I make they reimburse me now on Paypal adding a sweet "I don't want to get into negative feedback" business. It's just not fair.. charge more to begin with sellers. RrRrrr.. makes me so mad.. love this site!!

that capricious little rat's nest is no friend to many sellers...you can find plenty here who think so, based on their experiences.

Evil or Very Mad

Count me in that stat, NPP Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Annette, you don't have to take just our words for it. You can take it from hundreds of thousands of others:
www.paypalsucks.com
www.aboutpaypal.org

They are the most unethical, unscrupulous, seemingly illegal, scam haven, online fraudsters that I will NEVER again deal with Twisted Evil Twisted Evil
