3 days, WHOA!!! Thats quite a big chunk there.. Good to be overprepared than under I always say.. Now why couldnt OLA have been that prepared? A good site update for something as big and complex as an auction or eccomerce site shouldnt be done in any less than 2-3 days.. If not dine right then it can take a couple of weeks to get everything back on track..

I am in the "wait and see mode" now. Hope the improvements made in the next 3 days are good ones.

There never was a general announcement from BidVille that the site was going to be closed down: Some were notified by email and others (like me) weren't. - found it out by reading the boards. Some said it was announced on top of the pages and it could be seen by holding down Control and clicking Refresh -- nope - wasn't there for me.

Also, I just checked again on ubid to see that advertisement for BidVille which I keep HEARING about -- Nope - I can't see it -- Pushed Control and click refresh and STILL can't see it.

So, I am not setting my hopes very high but still am waiting and hopefully the new improvements will be visible to me.

The announcement was there alright. I was surfing at reallysmartdeals when I saw it on the item pages.

The new owners have yet to show me that they know anything about public online auctions, nothing !
This is a real Big test for them, and my hope is very dim, till they show me something.

I did enjoy the UBid banner in the lower left of the home page that led to the UBid site. But no Bidville banner at the UBid site coming back to Bidville.

I just checked their site, 11-5-06 at 5:54pm EST and it loaded fine. Being that its the first time I have ever visited it, I really couldnt tell you if anything has changed or not.

Well, they said that most of the changes were being made to the back end and would not be visable. They were right. I don't see many physical changes, but I do notice the pages coming up faster on an already fast site.

It seems like the search engine is working alot better also.
