PostPosted: Sun Nov 20, 2005 1:13 pm   Post subject:  Re: Alternatives to Paypal #46  Back to top

Pay66 might be totally legit but there are a few things about them that concern me.

1. The high number of spelling and grammatical errors on the site. Very unprofessional.

2. Pay66 has in business less than a month and there is no information about their financing on the site. No information about the owners other than saying it's an LLC registered in NM. That means NOTHING. I'm an LLC registered in Arizona, but it doesn't mean that I'm qualified to take your money and sensitive financial information and protect it.

3. The whois lookup for cyruslogix.com says it's registered to Kourosh Karimitari at an apartment complex in Albuquerque. I'm not disclosing any information that isn't publicly available. He might be a fine person, but it seems to me that any business that asks people to entrust it with their money and financial data should be forthcoming about their owners and financial setup.

4. You're running the risk of giving your credit card and bank account information to a stranger who has no credentials. PLUS, you're asking your customers to do the same.

Yes, EasyPay80 charges higher fees. I can choose to accept that or not. Yes, they've only been in business a short time, too, and they could go out of business at any time. But at least they give full disclosure about their owners and contact information.

Again, I'm not libelling Pay66 or saying it's not legit. I'm just expressing my concerns based on publicly available information. And no, I am not affiliated in any way with EasyPay80 or any company but my own retail enterprise. I don't even have an account with EasyPay80.

FWIW,

Siri Amrit

Some good strong points for both, like you -- I'll stick w/ Paypal b4 either company gets my business. I'll give them 6 months to strengthen their credentials!

I still like Payswiss but its still risky to submit CC, etc. overseas ... guess I'll have to wait and see. Would love to win the Powerball lottery and use it to set up an answer for all of us to use. I'll keep dreaming!

The software and secure domains is easy enough to obtain but one needs a lot of cash to really come out ahead of Paypal.

tigerflag wrote (View Post): › I just read the User Agreement at Pay66 and it's almost identical in every way to EasyPay80's but for a couple of differences.

EasyPay80 charges 5.5% + $1.25 per transaction.

EasyPay charges $2.00 per withdrawl.

EasyPay80 charges for customer phone support, while Pay66 doesn't.

EasyPay80 charges $50 per chargeback to Pay66's $35.

EasyPay80 seems to go to much greater lengths to protect the merchant from chargebacks. Preventing even one chargeback at $50 would more than pay for any additional fees they charge for phone support or withdrawls.

I'd suggest reading both User Agreements VERY thoroughly.

Thank you Tigerflag!

Well, I first want to say that I am even HONERED to have the eBay Power Sellers even mentioning our brand new company, (5 weeks old), on this message board.

My name is Lisa and I am one of the founders and CEO of EasyPay80.com. One of our investors tipped me off to this post and I again thank Tigerflag for pointing out some important factors in our UA.

Yes, we charge 5.5% + $1.25 as fee. Yes, I know that this is significantly higher than our competitors, but we have to charge a fee that will compensate our office structure. We have LIVE operators taking LIVE orders for our customers. It's like you have a fuly hired order taking staff working for you. Isn't worth paying a little more in fees? Yes, we charge that fee for ordering online as well, but it just takes the cost of getting you live customer support instead of having you open up support tickets and we take 12 hours to respond to them like some of our competitor's do!

Our board members voted on November 20th and the $2.00 withdrawal fee as well as the cost of the 1-800 call are being trashed on December 1st. We will be offering FREE toll free customer service and FREE withdrawals by check or bank transfer as of December 1st. Our EMERGENCY same day withdrawals or Western Union fees will remain the same.

We charge $50 per chargeback, instead of $35 because it is SO hard to get a chargeback fee from EasyPay80. We have had 6 instances of chargeback since we started. Only 1 seller has been charged with the $50 fee, and that is because he had 3 instances the same week. We didn't charge him for the first one--or even the second one--after the third--then, we had no choice.

One seller was trying to be tricked by a customer. He sent the item to the customer and the customer sent a different item back for a refund. Instead of automatically charging the seller, we called UPS who verified that the weights of the sent package--DID NOT match the weight of the retuned package--so the buyer was lying! Now, the seller is going to sue the buyer in court and we blocked that customer's credit card from the system. We investigate first before we charge the chargeback fee. See?

Just wanted to announce that and clear things up. If you decide to use EasyPay80, then we appreciate it. If not, good luck with your eBay Power Selling!!!

Sincerely,
Lisa

You are so right about that, GWFLASH! It does take an awful lot of cash to come our ahead of PayPal--which is why we are NOT even trying!

Just an alternative--that's all we are offering. A lot of people have been tricked by someone else and have had their PayPal accounts closed because of THEM, and those are most of the customers that we are pickin up.

I, speaking for myself, and not the company--still have a PayPal account. I hope no one messes my account up for me. It's number one and we have no problem with them. Just offering an alternative to those who may need it. Very Happy

Hi Lisa, Looks like you have a great deal going ... I'll be next in line to change. Paypal is getting just a little too un-friendlly for me being controled by Big Brother ebay. I'll b looking soon in the future to an alternative.
Thanks for all the insight!

Well, I for one will be watching your site, Lisa. Could really use it for my website. The only thing I have a problem with once again that keeps coming up is giving a copy of my driver's license. Gives me the "willies". I understand that you have to verify, though. These eyes of Texas are upon you, though! Wink

Yes, definitely--thanks! We understand that people are watching us to make sure we stay around. I was GreenZapped myself Mad ..Epay2000, I think they are gone too. We know that people want to be assured that we are here to stay first. So, I say--if you can use PayPal--use it. Then, if further down the line--you get tired of them, or want a company that does more--sign up with us!

Also, I think once we put up our registration ID's with the BBB, (still waiting on it), GA Dept of Revenue, (still waiting on it too), and Trust, people will see that we are here to stay! Right, now we are just registered with the GA Sceretary of State and the Securities Commission knows that we are operating because we are distributing profit shares to investors.

But, thanks again--and if Texas eyes are watching--we'd better watch our step! Smile

I know we've all been interested in Google Wallet if that happens, but this looks very promising and will also take a look into it. I would love to give an alternative to PayPal and eventually leave PayPal altogether.

Thank you very much EasyPay80 Exclamation

I like the look of the site and have signed up, but I am in need of a shopping cart for my website. Will you be implementing one soon? Thank you for your answer here.

Hello Debbie,

Don't forget to request your new telephone banner for your Merchant ID. It's free!

We are re-programming our site to offer a shopping cart for our customer's use in the next few months. In the meantime, you can use an order page and instruct your customers to pay for the total cost by either calling the 1-800 or online through our secured order page.

Or, you can even have your customers call our 1-800 directly and we can take your orders from them directly from your catalogue or website! Just place the telephone banner on your website or in your catalogue.

We will keep our members posted on when the new shopping cart is ready to download.

Thanks
Lisa

Glad you think so! Remember, we are still in our first operating stage, so we welcome new ideas to make the site work better. Our motto is that we are not just the PayPal Alternative--but the SOLUTION.

We also welcome new members to sit on our board of directors to help make decisions with the company. Please email me at ceo@easypay80.com for more information. We are a Georgia-based domestic for profit corporation.

Thanks
Lisa.

Hi. I've heard of www.alertpay.com, but have not signed up with them yet. Their rates are a little lower than Paypal. I would like to know if anybody has used them and how their service was. Were there any problems encountered? Thanks for your help.
