hi, sunflowers. i recently signed up with alertpay but havent had any buyers who used them yet. the only problem i had during signup was that they didnt like the only picture ID i have (which is a sams club card). so i cant be a verified user, even tho i gave em 3 proofs of address & linked my account to a checking account i've had fer 25 years. sheesh! so why do they need to know what i look like?

Laughing Confused

I have some experience with Alertpay, nopaypal. The picture ID verification is used to prevent fraud and other illegal activities. Being such a new service, it's really difficult getting buyers to sign up for it and use it. Many of them will tell you flat out that it's Paypal or nothing.

To top it off, Aletpay isn't currently accepting credit card payments and buyers can only upload funds from their checking/savings account to pay. Most buyers welcome the convenience of being able to pay for goods on the internet using their credit card. I'm not sure of this situation has changed. The last time I spoke with Alertpay's CS they said that they were working on it.

So, keep your fingers crossed Wink

p.s.I believe that ID such as your state's drivers license would be more acceptable.

Does anyone have experience with "Neteller"?

Evil or Very Mad

to answer yer ? about neteller--i had an account there too, but i thought it was quite complicated to use.

Well, I don't know what the situation is now, but the last time I spoke to CS they told me that they were working on it...I'm clueless. I haven't used their service in weeks. I'll have to log in to my account and see what the latest updates are.

You get a visa/atm card just like Paypal (which costs a couple bucks initially) but its a great way to accept payments with ZERO FEES which IMHO is very cool

I use PayPal right now and I am soooo disappointed in them. I need a good alternative to paypal. I see you said you use ecount but I just checked out their site and I see nothing about them offering service to internet business. Or did I miss something?? I hope you will still see this post for I liked that you said they offer a atm card like paypal does. Sad Question

There's another one I happened to typo my way into -- www.PayPay.com -- looks like a PayPal competitor trying to cash in on typo of "y" for the "l". Are these guys even legit?

StormPay offers an ATM debit card.
They also have free auction listings along with
lots of new features recently added.

I read somewhere that StormPay had a lawsuit against them and that they were being investigated.

Ran into some interesting sites. First up was a typo: www.paypay.com -- but it turned out to be a direct competitor to paypal that I've never heard of before, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on them readily available.

Then I got to thinking... it seemed like one reason for picking out a hokey name like paypay (aside from the typosquatting potential) is that pay.com wasn't available. So I entered www.pay.com, and sure enough -- it looks like a startup paypal competitor. The page is a placeholder (which as any experienced internet marketer knows, is a gigantic error) that says:

A prospectus will be available shortly.

Doesn't seem to be any shortage of folks that want to take on PayPal, although IMNSHO, competing head-on with PayPal is a solid loser. In the crowded field, GBuy is what I'm betting on, in spite of the fact that their screwups in China give cause to wonder if they have the required spinal stiffness.

www.bidpay.com
Bidpay allows a buyer to purchase a Western Union money order online using a Visa or Mastercard. The buyer pays the fees for the item to be shipped either regular, 2-day or overnight delivery. Payment is sent to the address provided by the buyer. Alternatively, sellers can register to have the payments directly deposited to their bank account via an ACH transfer. The seller has no risk of chargebacks on bidpay transactions as Bidpay is the merchant. Perfect service for international buyers or buyers with low feedback to help minimize the risk to the seller.

BIDPAY.com has CHANGED ALOT!! THe site got recently bought out this june and they no longer support western union. BIDPAY.com is now one of the best alternatives to paypal.com
