StormPay just announced changes which allow buyers to make
purchases from you without having to register for an account.

Quote: › StormPay announces no registration necessary!
June 27, 2006

Sellers - no longer do your customers need to register for a StormPay account to purchase your product! Now your buyers can click your “Buy Now” button, fill in their information, and submit their payment to you!

You asked for this feature, we listened, you got it!!

No more frustrating registration for buyers...

No more waiting to validate account info…

No more missing spontaneous purchases..

This new feature should easily allow you to convert shoppers into buyers! Because this new feature allows your customers to make purchases without registering, all payments received by you, from a NON registered StormPay account holder, will go to a “Pending” status. Payments will remain pending for a period of 7 days at which time payments received will convert to a “Complete” status. Once the payment status is “Complete”, you may withdraw or send funds as normal. Payments received by you from senders who ARE registered account holders instantly go to a completed status.

Special note: All customers wishing to use StormPay Auctions, StormClix, or register a subscription will be required to register a FREE StormPay.com account.

yeah, but ebay's payment policy specifically prohibits the use of stormpay! unless the buyer prefers it, apparently.

Confused

Yes that is true, but it is a nice option for selling on other sites including
StormPay's own auction which offers FREE basic listings.

Exactly! When StormPay started becoming too much competition for PayPal AND had their own auction site........ e-Bay banned StormPay. Imagine that!

bidpay has been gone for quite awhile.
beware of stormpay. i was a member, had no prblems. ... until a foriegn buyer claimed he never got merchandise, stopped payment, and stormpay came after me for reimbursement, and suspended me... all with no email notification, or inquriries.
it is impossible to track foriegn shipments, but, i have emails from the customer stating he in fact did recieve the the goods, postal reciepts, and, it is posted in a reply on the auction site by him that he recieved the order.
stormpay turned a deaf ear.
don't let it happen to you.
the safest, and best thing going is still postal money orders. you know immediately if they are good when you cash them at the post office.
ANYTHING else is a gamble.

NPP--Didn't know stormpay had their own auctions either! Shocked

AV, that's not what I'd call working with the users if stormpay suspended you without notice, especially by some foriegn buyer

you are correct, but, ONLY the post office can track it, you, the customer, or the payment source can not track it.
also, there might be a charge, and a waiting period, just as there is on tracing the postal money order if lost. i am not sure on this, but i think i have heard this from postal clerk.

it's back now...but with a completely different setup. they no longer sell MOs. now it's similar to paypal. which means it will prolly go nowhere.
