Whoozer, this is an old, old thread with much of it out of date. I think it should be trashed and reposted.

Has anyone tried NorthAmerican Bancard for processing? The fees look good at 2.19% + .10 transaction but I'm concerned about the 3 year contract and lacking information on how to set up a cart with it.

tigerflag wrote (View Post): › I just read the User Agreement at Pay66 and it's almost identical in every way to EasyPay80's but for a couple of differences.

EasyPay80 charges 5.5% + $1.25 per transaction.

EasyPay charges $2.00 per withdrawl.

EasyPay80 charges for customer phone support, while Pay66 doesn't.

EasyPay80 charges $50 per chargeback to Pay66's $35.

EasyPay80 seems to go to much greater lengths to protect the merchant from chargebacks. Preventing even one chargeback at $50 would more than pay for any additional fees they charge for phone support or withdrawls.

I'd suggest reading both User Agreements VERY thoroughly.

Thank you Tigerflag!

Well, I first want to say that I am even HONERED to have the eBay Power Sellers even mentioning our brand new company, (5 weeks old), on this message board.

My name is Lisa and I am one of the founders and CEO of EasyPay80.com. One of our investors tipped me off to this post and I again thank Tigerflag for pointing out some important factors in our UA.

Yes, we charge 5.5% + $1.25 as fee. Yes, I know that this is significantly higher than our competitors, but we have to charge a fee that will compensate our office structure. We have LIVE operators taking LIVE orders for our customers. It's like you have a fuly hired order taking staff working for you. Isn't worth paying a little more in fees? Yes, we charge that fee for ordering online as well, but it just takes the cost of getting you live customer support instead of having you open up support tickets and we take 12 hours to respond to them like some of our competitor's do!

Our board members voted on November 20th and the $2.00 withdrawal fee as well as the cost of the 1-800 call are being trashed on December 1st. We will be offering FREE toll free customer service and FREE withdrawals by check or bank transfer as of December 1st. Our EMERGENCY same day withdrawals or Western Union fees will remain the same.

We charge $50 per chargeback, instead of $35 because it is SO hard to get a chargeback fee from EasyPay80. We have had 6 instances of chargeback since we started. Only 1 seller has been charged with the $50 fee, and that is because he had 3 instances the same week. We didn't charge him for the first one--or even the second one--after the third--then, we had no choice.

One seller was trying to be tricked by a customer. He sent the item to the customer and the customer sent a different item back for a refund. Instead of automatically charging the seller, we called UPS who verified that the weights of the sent package--DID NOT match the weight of the retuned package--so the buyer was lying! Now, the seller is going to sue the buyer in court and we blocked that customer's credit card from the system. We investigate first before we charge the chargeback fee. See?

Just wanted to announce that and clear things up. If you decide to use EasyPay80, then we appreciate it. If not, good luck with your eBay Power Selling!!!

Sincerely,
Lisa

FYI: Finally, we do have a community forum on our site if you want to check it out. Thanks Smile

I'm just starting out & only need something very simple at the time. Your company looks like a service I would go for once my business has grown substantially. But thanks for taking the time to come here & explain your MO. I'll definitely keep easypay80 in mind.

Has anyone run into a problem convincing buyers to use one of these less well-known paypal alternatives? Transactions on my auction-style site (www.recycleyourwedding.com) are almost completely eaten-up by fees, but I don't think I have the credibility yet to push an unknown payment alternative.

If you currently process credit cards in your online stores, you are probably already aware of the Visa/MasterCard rate increase. Rates should only increase by 5-10 basis points (0.05%-0.10%). If you see an increase of anything more than that, contact your merchant service provider and negotiate a better rate.

Tried and true, I got my $25, and have already spent it. There are no fees when making or receiving payment between members. If your customer isn't a member, just send them an invite, they get $25 which they can use towards their purchase, or can keep for future use, and you get $10 for the referral. It's a win-win for everyone.

There is a new payment systems directory - http://www.onlinepaysystems.info. Looks like it's still under construction but going to be pretty good service.

I too wonder how shoppers will feel about not using paypal. I had a co-worker who started to purchase something on eb, and was redirected to a google checkout and got very upset. I had to explain to her that many sellers are leaving eb & pp in the dust and choosing less expensive methods of accepting payments. She was still upset about it, and eventually went through with the purchase.... but didn't like it. She is a somewhat experienced buyer- and I just have to wonder how the novice shopper will feel? Will they opt to try something different, will they refuse to work with a new merchant, how will they handle it?

I have never had anyone get upset about using Google Checkout, and have way more payment through GC then I do with PP, and those are by choice-not sent invoices.

How the heck did an eBay seller manage to integrate a Google Checkout? Google is banned by eBay (fear of competition). Are you sure it wasn't their nasty ChannelAdvisor thing? I hated that, too.

I would suggest Google Checkout as a first step for alternatives that are integrated. I would suggest making it clear to sellers and buyers that other alternatives exist, and can be (usually) handled with an emailed invoice or request for money, separately from the site, similar to paying by check or money order.

And you want to talk about persuading buyers? I've been trying to persuade sellers. Out of 20, one had and suggested xCoin - I think they look pretty good and I'm now signed up. One had RME and we used that. One only takes paper. Five used Google Checkout. Twelve wanted PayPal (or paper). I told each that I had PayPal and Google and RME and was willing to try another if they cared to suggest it. One tried something new, one suggested something new, one was having trouble getting something new to work, one won't use any online payment system. It was very interesting.

I do not use paypal.

I use both Gogle Checkout and XCOIN.

Both are very good.

Sadly as my Google Checkout account is in GBP not USD I have to send an invoice for each purchase.

Does anyone know of any site auction or store that has integration for Googe Checkout in GBP?

I also use XCOIN.com Now a very good service. In the past there were Customer Service issues, but now they are a very good service.
