Hi,

My name on this forum is coronagal. I registered for this forum because my eBay Store sales and auctions are almost non-existent, and I'm thinking of using other venues and also starting my own website. I began selling on eBay in 2004 because my husband and I were planning to retire soon and move from NY to NC. Therefore, I was ready to part with lots of personal items.

I sold a lot in the beginning and up until we moved last New Year's Eve. Because of the move I put my store on vacation until April 2006 and when I returned to eBay had good sales through June. Then we went on a fairly long vacation and our son died, so my store stayed on vacation until last month. Even then (despite the problems with search) my sales were fairly good, then suddenly they dried up and in these two months I really lost money (mostly because of all the auctions I was running to drive sales to my store).

So I'm looking forward to finding out what's out there insofar as other venues are concerned, and how to go about opening my own website. I may be lurking more than posting, but if I can help anyone else I will definitely post.

So thank you very much for having this great forum.

Perre

Welcome !

Alot of people to learn from here thats for sure

Yes eBay has gotten worse since the summer ,hard to imagine summer sales beating holiday sales and volume but thats the situation for most and the fee's are higher too.

Plenty of options for places to sell ,most have slower sales but alot less fee's

Consider free online classfieds as viable option

Free Online Classifieds? Where do I find these and how do I use them? I'm looking at everything right now.

Thank you, Lammergeiernet.

Hi Dovewind and Mark,

Thank you for the welcome to the forum and to NC. I'm from New York City (Queens County to be exact), right around Shea stadium -- walking distance. We're now living in Rocky Mount a lovely small town which I'm enjoying very much. My husband is from NC, so he's back home after being a New Yorker for over 45 years.

I will look up craigslist.com and google the free online classifieds. Thank you very much for the information, Dovewind.

Perre

Hey Perre -
I was just by Rocky Mount 6 weeks ago. Had to be in Roanoke Rapids and went to R.M. on way to Raleigh. Also, just in Raleigh last weekend. Im near Charlotte but will be back that way in a few months...

Too close to coast for us to live Smile

Either way...it's beautiful down here.

Welcome Perre!

Ok, for you Rawleigh-ites... is the 42nd St Grill still there???? I had the best mesquite grilled grouper when I was there on a genealogy expedition to the Historical Commission.

I also spent a year in Buffalo/Cheetawauga on Genessee.

You are missing some of the most beautiful and wild scenery... Natural and manmade.

I want to explore more of the northern US. I really enjoyed going to Niagra Village and seeing the black squirrels. And the two forts facing each other at the mouth of the lakes.

And I understand the European history in the eastern US that isn't found in the west...

But!!! There is White Sands, Grand Canyon, Painted Desert (best colors are at sunrise and sunset) An awesome Dam, Carlsbad Caverns, Death Valley, Scotty's Castle, Kern River made famous by Merle Haggard... regardless that its rate of descent is so steep. Don't forget the Corps of Engineers mistake... Salton Sea.

Granted I love the green trees, mountains and rain of the east. And I have been from the pacific to the atlantic numerous times. I like traveling.
