I just learned that you must pay $196.00 for a founding membership in order to access and use the OLister at OLA. I'm sure most of you already know this, but ebay sellers who are looking for a new home probably don't.

So, this is a heads up... If you have hundreds or thousands of auctions at ebay and wish to move them to OLA, paying $8 a month won't do the trick.. you have to pay nearly $200 for that privilege. That may sound cheap compared to ebay, but you'd be joining a site that is not all that it's cracked up to be. In fact, OLA is severely deficient in commonplace promotional tools, such as Google and RSS, that are automatic at most other sites, even the free ones.

Sounds like Fain and WP Ray were cut from the same cloth -- not giving common features unless you pay extra for them.

I'm glad I don't use either site.

They aren't cut from the same cloth at all. WP Ray has nothing in common with Fain as far as I can see after doing business on his site for 26 months so far. I don't know what "not giving common features unless you pay extra for them" would refer to on WP. I pay the same price for the same features that everyone else gets.

I am very glad to be using WP because still, even after the years of work that I've put into numerous other sites including my own website, WP still delivers the most sales.

Oh, PLEASE no. The last thing we need is another Wagglepop thread. I want to stick to listing and selling and helping my friends.

Yes, this thread is about helping Sellers avoid a site that won't meet their basic needs no matter how much they pay to list there.

That's extremely hard to do. I remember around Feb. of this year explaining to countless dozens of sellers from several different forums why OLA was one the weakest choices out of all of the available sites. I don't think I did any good at all. When I took the time to try to show people how weak OLA's traffic is in relation to their number of listings, and when I tried to explain why and how it would surely result in weaker sales than almost ANY other choice, I was almost always met with something along the lines of, "Well I'm still going to give it a try. A lot of other sellers are going there too. If everyone goes to the same site we can make it big."

That's fine, but I like to keep it simple. The simple matter of fact is this... Ebay Sellers will not be able to bulk list at OLA unless they pay $196 to do so.

One also must buy the Founding Membership to have a Store - I think it's called MyOLAHouse.

If I'd been swindled out of my hard earned cash I'd be calling it myHOLAhouse, for obvious reasons.

So let me get this right:

If an eBay member is paying through the nose because he has 1000's of items up on that site, that member can pay $196.00, get the bulk lister to pull all those thousands of listings over to OLA, and that same money pays for a full year PLUS a store? And they never have to pay another dime for a full year? AND that's for unlimited listings with no final value fees? AND their customers can pay with something other than Paypal?

That doesn't really sound like a bad deal... and I know that people are buying and selling over there... because I'm not hurting for sales... nor are any of the sellers with positive attitudes...

But you must be right... Only a fool would trade paying through the nose every month at eBay for $196.00 for the first year at OLA and only $96.00 a year ($8.00 a month folks) for every year after that... guaranteed!!! Bulk lister, store, unlimited listings, choices for their customers to pay, for only $196.00 the first year and $96.00 a year for the rest of their lives... what a crummy deal... roflmao!!!

I personally think only a fool would listen to someone who couldn't cut it at OLA... only a fool would let someone else tell them how to spend their money and run their business... and only a fool wouldn't question the venom and poison spewed by a handful of people on this site who apparently have nothing better to do than spend their time reading every post and copying and pasting and putting negative spins on everything that happens on a site they can't sell at... sounds like sabotage to me...

Do you really get members for your sites this way?

Again I say-OLA is a dead end venue. I already paid Fain $196 to warehouse my items. I've headed to Atomic Mall! Bye, bye OLA!!!

Then you should be on the AM Discussion Forum praising your site and your cubby over there... not here attacking me for defending the venue I choose to list at...

Not attacking you-why are you so paranoid anyway? OLA is the one that deserves being scrutinized.
