seems like the only one getting rich on OLA is OLA itself by selling founding memberships for $196.00! seems that one can get rich by promising the world to ebay refugees! tired of hearing the same old "people are so nice and helpful here' enough of that nice people being helpful doesnt pay my bills, only sales do! seems like ola is a great "social" site but what about for making sales? How long does one wait for sales to come through? your thoughts please.

I, myself have waited for 7 months now! What a joke! Glad I didn't hold my breath-I don't look good in that shade of blue. The place is a total rip-off!

Metzymom is getting rich. She is always singing OLA's praises. I think she has a alter set up in her house with a picture of Fain on it.

Now they are pushing to get their listings to a billion and to advertise the fact they have more items listed than any other site.

Right now they say they have 17 million - that is all fine and dandy but they are still averaging only 125 sales a day. What good is listing if there are no buyers and no feeds?

And almost 16 million of those listings are baseball cards from what has been said before.

Yes, and now they only need about 83 million more baseball cards to reach their goal of 1 billion listing. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I doubt they are making any significant amount of money.

That's more for bandwidth and advertising.

Please don't forget to count all the BEATLES trading cards that are listed individually there too. Great way to pad their numbers!

the sad thing is that they will make MILLIONS more on innocent new founding members and regular monthly sellers.

If enough people complain about OLA to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) they might actually shut down the site.

Have done my part and am posting on any site I can think of to get the word out. I feel the need to protect people from this horrible excuse for a business. I will do what I can to make sure anyone I come in contact with does not fall for the "friendly site" which is really filled with evil minded, short-sited excuses for people! Hopefully many more will see the light!

PostPosted: Sat Sep 27, 2008 7:13 pm   Post subject:  OLA points to ponder(Feel free to add to the list!) #11  Back to top

1. OLA can silence everyone on OLA but cant silence anyone on PSU!

2. If you speak nicely about OLA sellers on the boards there LOVE you, if you tell the "truth" about OLA or have concern about OLA you are marked a "Trouble maker"

3. OLA has become a cult

4. OLA is filled with cheerleaders and GROUPIES

5. Everyone is so friendly there, everyone is so nice there, everyone is so helpful there (just ask the cheerleaders, they will tell you!)

6. The people who always post OLA is so GREAT only have been there 6 months or less!

7. Those that post that they have SO MANY sales at OLA usually only have 10-15 items listed. How the heck can they make SO MANY sales with so FEW items listed..cough, cough Bull Sh$t!

8. OLA groupies will turn their back on you faster than you can type O-L-A!

9. Those that ALWAYS defend OLA so hard seem to have a vested interest in OLA. Maybe some of the biggest Cheerleaders might be Chris Fain using different screenames? Interesting thought! because NO ONE can love ola that much to have such a hard on for them!

10. some people act so possessed by OLA

11. How many people are tired of hearing..dont be mad because you werent successful here....UM people are selling the same items EVERYWHERE else BUT ola...wow, isnt that funny!

12. Who really believes that sellers buying from other sellers is REAL Traffic?

13. if OLA was truthful from the beginning and said, pay 200.00 AND YOU bring your own traffic, most of us would not have become founding members or members at all.

14. When people post..if your not happy then just leave! We are all trying but OLA WONT Cancel any founding memberships, they are trapping all of us here so it LOOKS like there are alot of founding members.

15. How many ACTIVE founding members are there versus those founding members STUCK HERE. i think the numbers will scare potential members away.

16. if you love ola, great, but dont force it down everyone else throat!

17. Pay to post there...another scheme to make money off its sellers.

18. ever call customer service? sounds like they are all in a trailer.

19. everyone there keeps saying OLA will be number one, um...how long and how many times is this going to be said..they will still be saying this in year 2080!

20. OLA is a great site as a social club and playing weekly games, just not for selling.

21. Can anyone verify that the total items listed are actual or inflated?

22. OLA has become a country club, if you dont kiss butt and act fake, you are banned and messages deleted.

23. its one thing to love and support your site, but its another to have your head so far up ola butt that you cant see whats going on..pull it out!

24. the owner has never came on the chats to address customers concerns, most legit sites have their owners REGULARLY on the chat boards..check out atomic mall. the owner is ALWAYS there giving real answers to questions and concerns.

25. New members can no longer see what is wrong with OLA until AFTER they buy a membership! um..can you say trap?

26. people against OLA GREATLY out number those that are pro about OLA...that speaks volumes of the site.

27. why wont OLA let you CANCEL a membership all together like EVERY other site? They will only ALLOW you to downgrade to a basic membership. What if you dont want no stinkin basic membership?

28. If you have cheerleaders and groupies as moderators, do you think that is going to be one sided chat rooms?

29. why cant cheerleaders just see what is going on there?

30. why do ROOKIE sellers LOVE ola and veteran sellers run as fast as they can from OLA?

31. Why can a person list items on ola for a year and make 4-5 sales and then list the same items on atomic mall or bonzale and make 10-12 sales their first week there?

32. why can a site like atomic mall or bonzale not charge you a membership and THEY have google rss feeds and OLA charges you $200.00 and they cant seem to figure it out!

33. OLA is afraid of other sites taking their customers away. well, if you treat your customers good and make them happy they would have to worry about other sites taking them away..just BASIC Business common sense here!

34. I would have more respect for OLA if they just came out and say..give us 200.00 and we wont do anything for you here on the site except give you a site to list items on...at least they would be upfront and honest.

35.OLA spelled backwards-ALO= Another Lie Oh my!

36. OLA will make MILLIONS on new members that have no clue!

37. OLA has accomplished its goal with the chats, there will be no more negative talk about ola on there, just a bunch of people posting there trying to CONVINCE each other just how great OLA is!

Feel FREE to add to this list, Im sure I missed something!

There are still numerous glitches especially regarding listing - ie they disappear, don't start as scheduled so you have to manually go in cancel the scheduled auction and then relist. They stagger the listings so as not to overload the servers - I thought they had new servers installed.

Can't get answers to email or phone calls unless you are a supporter.

Elbandjen -- couldn't have said it better if I tried! Congrats. I would like to add that when you call customer service, I got the feeling I was talking to someone in a barn, not even as "upscale as a trailer". Also, OLA is not a great site as a solcial club because it is full of backstabbing, mean spirited excuses for people - I know I wouldn't want to be in a social situation with the majority of them. To come across one or two good to every 10 bad ones is probably a good ratio. Not all rookies love OLA, some see through the bs right after they are sucked in just like not all vets leave -- probably because they are being comped by the company! I feel it is my mission and that of those disillusioned former OLAers to get the message out loud and clear of what a huge, rip-off mess the site is. It is full of lies and deceit and preys on the innocent. Then it goes in for the kill, the founding membership choke hold! Spread the word.

When I went to the BBB site, I came across the name Mr James McAllister, COO and principal of the company. How come we never hear of or from him? Fain is listed as CEO - are they equal partners if not who has more power?
