A buyer want to pay via ACH to my bank account... it is safe? I heard of ACH disputes similar to Paypal disputes.

Should I allow? Amount is $200++

By the way, can a bank to america to bank of america online payment be reversed?

Buyer does not want to use paypal or credit card for some reason.

diesel, I recommend that you read the fine print for your account and then talk with customer care. Rest assured ACH transactions are safer than PayPal. Safer and cheaper, too.

To the best of my knowledge, a payment can not be reversed. However, policies may have changed since I read the fine print, when I started ACH, there was no member-to-member transferrs. I suggest you call B of A for a competent answer.

For this amount, you may want to consider is a 5 day delay in shipping. The notification of payment comes pretty quickly, but the funds take a few days to actually clear. The time between is an unknown quantity as all accounts are prone to being overdrawn.

Congrats on your sale!

Thanks for the input.

From what I read from other sites, there is something called ACH fraud wherein someone that gets hold of your ACH # and account number can actually do debits from your account without even having your password or name and this is scary.

ACH fraud articles:

Bank Fraud ACH

Crooks love ACH

What are your thoughts?
