I learned something interesting today about Amazon and how their system works hard to prevent “buyer’s remorse”. When an Amazon customer places an order on the Amazon website, that order is not sent to the third-party seller (such as myself) for ninty minutes. When the buyer places the order by commiting to the purchase and providing payment information, the seller’s inventory is reduced by the quantity of the purchase.

During the ninty minutes between the time the buyer places the order and the seller receives the order, the buyer has the option of cancelling the order for any reason. If the order is cancelled, the seller’s inventory is increased again and the seller is never notified of the cancelled order.

I would say this is a good model for eBay to possibly follow... but then buyers would start dinging sellers' shipping time DSRs for being "too slow." Rolling Eyes

That kind of system is where eBay appears to be headed. But as long as they allow unknown, unverified users to bid on a seller's items, end a seller's listings, and cost a seller fees without actually providing a payment - and all the while permitting this non-buyer to trash the seller's reputation...

well, you see what happens.

It's usually about 4 hrs from the time the order is placed until I get in on Amazon. Works fine for me.
