eBay issued a trading advisory to users on Monday about the effects of Hurricane Ike:
Hurricane Ike has affected many communities, especially in the Gulf Coast areas of Texas and Louisiana, disrupting power, communication and transportation lines. If you are involved in an eBay transaction with a member in one of these affected regions, this is a reminder that their ability to complete the transaction may be delayed, and we encourage you to be patient with them. USPS
FedEx
UPS
DHL

I live here in Texas, and the storm has interrupted many deliveries of food, mail, etc. that routes through or originates in Houston that supply businesses throughout the state. Even though my city was not directly affected by the storm, our grocery stores and restaurants are experiencing shortages of certain food items. It's hard to say how long deliveries will take to get back on track. |
