The Friedman Foundation for Educational choice announced that Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne has been unanimously elected co-chairman of the board. The Friedman Foundation is a non-profit organization established in 1996 and is an advocate of vouchers for school choice. Byrne, an education reformer, was the primary supporter of Utah's Referendum One, a campaign that pushed for Utah to become the first state in the nation to enact a universal school voucher program.
